In Sept. 8-9, 2012, In Your Head Productions, LLC held a film festival with feature films, documentaries, shorts and film panels. One film panel was about how filmmakers can use social media to bring about social change. The second panel was about visual effect
s. The Social Media Film Festival envisions thought-provoking films that touch on the human experience and how we use technology to advance human kind. We're showcasing films that make us think about our futures not as one country, but as one planet. The festival encourages films with visual effects. Smaller budgeted films can produce amazing things with the advances in motion graphics and visual effects software programs. In the end, it still comes back to ‘story.’ There are so many great stories and talented filmmakers out there. Independent filmmakers are also independent thinkers with fresh ideas and new ways of seeing the world. Without having a venue to showcase their work, the Social Media Film Festival will establish and create a home for those independent filmmakers. The venue for Sat. Sept. 8th was The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. As technology is ever-changing, our need as artists, filmmakers and human beings to connect with each other in business and our personal lives is constantly growing and evolving.
