There is a story of a young lumberjack competing against a mature lumberjack. The young one works really hard the whole time while the mature one takes a break every now and again. At the end of the competition, the mature lumberjack has more wood chopped. The young one is frustrated and can’t understand until the experienced lumberjack tells him it’s important to sharpen your ax. Taking a break is not selfish or lazy, it’s necessary to work more efficiently and effectively.

For years I have tried to “fill my bucket” 🪣 with people pleasing and perfectionism but it just leaves me drained. John 7:38 tells of living water that flows from inside our spirit.

Sometimes you just need to write down the point that jumps out at you! Listened to the Talk if Out podcast as I got ready for the day and this line about “death always precedes resurrection” stood out. Made me think about what losses I have had in life and how God has used them. Loss is hard, and God can bring purpose from the pain if we let Him.
