I love these because they aren’t the regular red and green of Christmas 🎄 I also love them because of the snowflakes ❄️ and I can wear them into January. One of the many beautiful things about snowflakes is they are all unique, just like us. God has created each of us to be unique with our own gifts, talents and callings.
So walk out your unique calling whatever shoes you are wearing! 💜👟🥿👠👢👡

One of the things I love about Biblical fiction is the chance to imagine what the rest of the story may have looked like and connect to the people in the Bible on another level. has always done a wonderful job of researching and bringing her stories to life. I have had the pleasure of reading several of her other books and having her as a guest on the podcast. Look forward to reading her newest book!

“God with us.”
That’s the beauty of Emmanuel — not just in the Christmas season, but in every ordinary and unseen moment of our lives.

God isn’t distant. He isn’t absent. He chooses to dwell with His people.
May this truth bring comfort to your heart today.

Wearing the new boots today and took a break to read a quick devotion. “maintaining a disposition of expectation towards life” stood out to me. I was excited to get these shoes and I had a positive expectation while waiting. But I don’t always have a positive expectation about everything in life. I want to be more excited about what Jesus is doing in my life than I am a new pair of shoes. Even if they are really cute 🥰😅💜

Yesterday’s conversation with Pastor Hunter Ruch of Williamsburg Community Chapel stayed with me.

We talked about Christ in the Tabernacle — and how God’s heart has always been to dwell with His people. Not distant. Not removed. But present.

That truth feels especially meaningful in this season. God with us. Not just at Christmas, but in our everyday lives, questions, and quiet moments.

If your heart needs the reminder that you’re not alone, I hope you’ll listen in. 🤍

Freedom has always been God’s heart.

From the Passover to the cross, God shows us again and again that salvation is His work — loving, costly, and complete.

Whatever feels like bo***ge today, God is still a Deliverer.

What a great conversation with Colin Curtis with Coastal Church.

Been anticipating these holiday shoes and now they are here!! How much more should we anticipate Jesus birth? His willingness to give up Heaven and be a helpless baby all because He loves us?

Next in The Promises of Christmas…

A conversation about God with us — His desire to dwell with His people, not just then, but now.

This episode will be a tender reminder that you are never alone.

Let this settle your heart today 🤍

Jesus was never an afterthought.
And neither were you.

God has always been intentional — with creation, with redemption, and with the work He’s doing in your life right now.

If Christmas feels heavy or uncertain this year, remember: God is steady, purposeful, and faithful.

Thanks to Pastor John Morgan of Williamsburg Presbyterian for this timeless truth.

They may not have Santa or reindeer on them, but they are in the red family and fun! Besides, sometimes the other accessories are enough to celebrate the season.
And sometimes walking out our faith is enough. One of the things I loved about MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) was their philosophy of lifestyle evangelism. We were to live our lives in such a way that people noticed. We don’t have to beat people over the head with a Bible.
So walk out your faith with whatever ahoea you have on. 💜

PS: Anyone have an idea for a fun # to use for my show posts?

I really like the song “Glow in the Dark” by Jason Gray. It’s upbeat and makes me want to tap my toes and dance. What does that have to do with the shoes? They glow in the dark!! The thing is, though, they won’t glow if they aren’t first exposed to some light. Same goes for us. We cannot glow with the light and love of Jesus if we do not first soak in His light or His word.
So go and glow and remember Santa is coming to town soon! 😉
