MEET CHESS, OUR WEEKEND GUEST FROM Saving Grace NC!

Chess is a very sweet 6 year old 11 pound poodle looking for his forever home. He’s super chill and only wants to be near you! He’s good in his crate, house trained, and rarely barks.
Chess does have some vision impairment and needs a little guidance now and then, especially on stairs. But he gets around on his own pretty easily, and walks well on a leash. He got along well with Abby but would be perfectly fine as an only dog. We loved having this boy for the weekend! If you’d like to meet Chess, make an appointment at savinggracenc.org

Our sweet Madison passed away suddenly yesterday. We’re heartbroken to lose her so quickly, but grateful she didn’t suffer long and spent her last few days at her favorite place in the world—the beach. You guys have been so good to follow me through the years and always had so many nice things to say about our precious girl, I wanted to let you know. She gave us 15 years of unconditional love and we’ll miss her forever💔💔💔

Congratulations to my good friend Bill Reh on his retirement after nearly 40 years of forecasting in the Triangle! Bill welcomed me to ABC 11 when I arrived 31 years ago, and even though we haven’t worked together for many years, we’ve remained good friends. Now he can go to more games of his two favorite teams—the Tarheels and the Hurricanes. And enjoy that first winter storm watching from home! Congrats Bill!

I’ve been intrigued by the Facebook posts this weekend with folks talking about how “rare” it was to see snow here. Historically, a 2-3” snowfall in the Triangle occurs in 80% of our winters. Maybe it’s because the last two winters saw very little snow? 🤔
