Daniel Nii Ankrah a.k.a BlackJack was brought up in a lively and musical Ghanaian family. BlackJack has been making music since he was 4 years old, when he and his sisters started playing their Dad's organ player and writing songs. Growing up, he listened to a wide range of music which inspired him to craft his own production style.

He became more serious about music production at aged 15 and used a variety of music production programs. Since 2005, he has been working with Propellerhead’s Reason

In 2007, Blackjack became a member of soulful house group Circle Of Funk.

Circle Of Funk have released several tracks with various singers including Lifford Shillingford (Artful Dodger - Please Don't Turn Me On) and house music legend, Robert Owens. They also worked with Mikee Freedom to remix 90's classic dance track 'I Wanna Give You Devotion'.
