Dear Press 1 Friends--
We are writing to let you in on the exciting news that Beth Thorpe has now taken over the editorship of Press 1.

We want to thank all of our faithful readers over these past five+ years. We also want to thank all of the writers and artists, including columnists and frequent contributors, who have helped through their dedication and hard work to make the magazine a very distinctive presence on the web. Thanks to those of you also who have written with ideas and support over the last couple of months while the magazine was on break.

Many of you know Beth's wonderful fiction from the magazine. You also will recall that she guest edited the fiction offerings for us for IV:3: http://www.leafscape.org/press1/v4n3/fiction-intro.html. This link includes her thoughtful introduction to that issue's fiction, and gives you some insight into her editorial ideas.
Check out the "Author Archives" to find stories by her, as well.

Beth has given us some hints as to where she'll be taking the magazine. She clearly will continue in much the same spirit: in many ways, but not least in furthering the sense of timeliness and community that we always considered integral to the magazine.

We are going to be devoting more time to our various projects and look forward to following the magazine. Best to you, Beth. And again, thanks to everyone in the Press 1 family.
Arlene Ang, Valerie Fox, Nicole Kline, and Phyllis Wat

If Philadelphia and environs were a garden of poetry, it’d be … quite a garden. It’d be huge. This is a big poetry town that, while perhaps not as famed for verse as New York and San Francisco, is lush and fertile, especially during April, Poetry Month. No gardener could tend it a…

I'm afraid the January 2012 issue is going to be delayed for a couple of weeks more: OX S Lion ate my Leopard programs, making it necessary to revamp the website. Thanks for the patience—you're going to love the next issue! ♥♥♥
