BelieversBookServices is looking for inspirational stories with a spotlight on the everyday heroes who have chosen to serve others in ways that is both sacrificial and unselfish. Not only have we been challenged by one of the most unique times in history, but these heroes have striven to do so in a way that made people’s lives easier and the world a better place. We need these stories.

We have a client who will be publishing an anthology of these stories which will be made available everywhere books are sold.

How it works

Whether you have been previously published, or not, submit your story through the link below, and our team will choose the best stories, edit them for publication, and complete the layout, design, printing, marketing, and distribution for the product with a traditional royalty agreement.

Your story should be about someone who is a modern, everyday hero. They might be a front line worker, or someone who lives down the street. People are hungry for inspirational stories!

Stories must be 2,000-2,500 words in length, original work, and free from all other encumbrances, including being previously published elsewhere. Our client will pay a modest advance for each story selected to be in the book, along with a royalty paid quarterly. Publishing agreements will be offered to those whose books are selected.

Deadline

We are hoping to have our selections made for this first volume by June 15, 2020. Please submit your story before this deadline.

Hidden Hazards of Self Publishing
Booknappers
Anyone whose contract takes away your publishing rights is going to hold you and your book hostage.
Tip: Watch out for e-book rights, TV rights, film rights, etc. Don't sign away valuable rights in a bad contract. Get it in writing.

Hidden Hazards of Self Publishing
FALSE SCARCITY
Many self-publishers will try to convince you they work only with select authors. In reality, most self-publishers will work with anyone whose checkbook can afford them. Don’t buy based on the impression you’re joining an elite group or that you have “been selected” to publish by an editorial board or publisher. “Selection” plus payment is usually designed to hide fees. Like anything else, buy based on the quality of the product!
Tip: Anyone can “publish” anything today. One “publisher” gladly accepted and produced a book full of gibberish generated by a computer. It was part of a prank played by some writers to prove this company would publish and print anything. Make sure to read the fine print.

Hidden Hazards of Self Publishing
Over-the-Top Claims
“In less than 90 days, your book will reach a readership of thousands.” “Reach Millions of eBook Readers!” “Make your self-published book a best-seller.” Avoid the disreputable publishers who make promises like this.
Tip: Ask for the evidence and don’t accept one success story as proof. Subsidy publishers are fond of repeating the stories of the same few “authors who made it big” while neglecting to mention the thousands who lost out.

Hidden Hazards of Self Publishing
The “Dream World”

Companies who paint a rosy picture but downplay hard questions are not serving you. Independent publishing is hard work. Not everyone should take on this challenge. Don’t get suckered into purchasing expensive self-publishing packages if you are not prepared to begin marketing and selling your own books. Always plan for a marketing budget on top of the investment of creating the book itself.

Tip: You want to work with people who will tell you the truth about your skills, your writing, and your readiness for the self-publishing journey.
