• $1,000: Cost of sending a DJ to cover a varsity game for three days
• $500: Cost of replacing a studio microphone
• $250: Cost of replacing a CD player
• $90.3: A donation tier in reference to the stations call number-
• $24: The amount a member of the Class of 2024 needs to give to receive the Philanthropy Honor Cord
• $10: Our minimum gift amount for credit card processing, thank you for your generosity!
Radiothon brings out the best WRIU has to offer. Our DJs have given their all year in, year out, and Radiothon is the shining example of what we do as a united front.

I hope those who can, will join in supporting the station next week when Radiothon commences! Donations can be made year-round as well, whatever amount is greatly appreciated. Hello WRIU listeners and community,

Our annual Radiothon event is on the horizon! The event kicks off this Saturday, March 23rd and the on air promotion of the event runs until Saturday March 30th! We’ve been listening to feedback over the last few years and decided it was time to make some necessary and smart updates to the radiothon process to ensure its sustainability and consistency going forward! We’ve been working with the URI Foundation to ensure the donation process becomes more user friendly and complies with the necessary guidelines of fundraisers.

A big change to Radiothon this year is that we are stepping away from offering premiums. The primary reason is to meet IRS standards, as the IRS guidelines do not allow for donations to be a part of the process. Instead, we are creating donation tiers to allow donors to see where what we are targeting the funds for.

Listeners interested in donating should go to our website - will be able to donate on a website WRIU.org page. In the top corner under the radiothon tab, there is a link to the brand new WRIU foundation page where your donation can be made!

For those wishing to donate by phone, that is still possible! As usual you can call into the studio and pledge to your favorite DJ and show! We are no longer able to take credit cards over the phone. We will take your name, pledge amount, email address and mailing address and you will receive a follow-up and fromthere you will be contacted by the Foundation with instructions on how to complete your donation!
