I used to think our stories were only shaped by the people who hurt us.
Now I know they're also shaped by the strength we inherit.
Over the last couple of weeks, football reminded me of something much deeper than sport.
It reminded me that identity is something we can reclaim.
Today, I choose to celebrate the resilience, courage, and heart that runs through my Cabo Verdean roots.
We don't only inherit wounds.
We also inherit the strength to heal them.

It was born from a conversation, a few tears, and a realization I couldn't ignore.

This week reminded me that it's okay to stop chasing.

Here's to deeper connections, reciprocal love, and friendships that feel like home.

Sometimes the smallest things arrive exactly when we need them.

Today, I found this homemade bookmark that simply said:

"Words are windows to new worlds."

And ain't that the truth?

It reminded me that words have power.

The words we speak to ourselves.
The stories we repeat in our heads.
The labels we carry.
And the beliefs we choose to hold on to.

On the one hand, a single sentence can limit us.
But on the other hand, a single sentence can set us free.

Which sentence will you choose?

Changing our words can change our world. So today, choose your words carefully. Speak hope, life, kindness, and possibility into the universe. And be open to how it can change your world.

You never know which new world is waiting on the other side of a different story.

I am proud of the woman I have become.

I am authentic. I am loving. I am honest. I work hard, and I move through life with care, kindness, and intention.

I am not perfect. Better yet, I am faaaar from perfect.
I don't want to be perfect, because that's boring.
But I am growing. I am learning. I am becoming more of myself every single day.

And for that, I am proud.
Proud of the times I kept going when it would have been easier to give up. Proud of the lessons, the setbacks, the healing, and the growth.

As always says: as long as you're breathing, you have options.

And for that...
I LOVE MYSELF ❤️
Not because I have achieved everything I once dreamed of. Not because I have it all figured out.
But because I survived, healed, learned and I kept moving forward.

When was the last time you paused to celebrate your growth? How often do you reflect on the small wins that quietly shaped the person you are today?

Sometimes the most important victories are the ones no one else sees. The days you chose yourself. The moments you didn't give up. The battles you fought in silence.
Those count too.

To honour our ancestors.
