A new chapter🍀

After two years I’ve decided to stop with 🥹 . It was a difficult decision. I am a single mother, raising two beautiful children all while working full time and doing all the necessary stuff that comes with all of it. I couldn't find enough time and motivation to continue this journey at this point in my life. I also have other ambitions and dreams that are coming easier to me at this point.

I would like to thank everyone for their collaboration and time🙏🏾. I’ve met a lot of new people, some of whom will have a lasting impression, and I made new friendships.

I always believe that black people should own their own media outlet so we can determine what’s been said about us. But also to create, collaborate, and share positive stories, successes, and more..

Unfortunately, now is not my time to continue this journey. I still believe we need more positive black images and role models, especially for our youth. I hope one day we can see a diverse range of black media outlets flourishing.
This is not a goodbye but a farewell. I really hope that I can continue my dream in the future.
Much love..❤️😘

Born on the Caribbean island of Curacao 🇨🇼, she learned to swim in the sea🌊. At the of 11 her swimming career began as the youngest participant in the Kingdom Games. She moved to Amsterdam 🇳🇱 at the age of fifteen with her mother and four brothers.

She achieved great success nationally and internationally. At the World Swimming Championships 🏊🏼‍♀️in 1973 and 1975 she won a total of one silver🥈 (in the 200-meter backstroke) and four bronzes🥉. She always had to tolerate swimmers from East Germany, who would later turn out to have used doping to achieve their top performances.

Brigitha participated on behalf of the Netherlands 🇳🇱in the 1972 Summer Olympics (in Munich🇩🇪) and 1976 (in Montreal🇨🇦). She won bronze medals🥉 in the 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle at the Montreal Games. She became the first colored swimmer 🏊🏼‍♀️in the world to win an Olympic medal.

She was named Sportswoman of the Year in 1973 and 1974 for her top performances. In 1979 she was made a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. Enith Brigitha was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 🇺🇸in 2015. Two years later she received the Black Achievement Award in the Netherlands. That same year, a swimming pool on Curaçao was named after her, the Pisina Enith Brigitha. Program maker Mo Hersi also wanted to honor her for her special achievements and social significance. He raised money through a crowdfunding campaign. Artist Patrick Mezas was willing to make a statue of the two-time Sportswoman of the Year. On October 15, 2022, the statue was placed in the Lumière Park on the Weerwater in Almere. This is the first work of art in honor of a colored woman in the Netherlands

HAPPY 22.02.2022 Y’ALL 🥳

Let’s start off being grateful for this special day. Overall 2022 is a special year with three dates amplifying its uniqueness . First off we had 02.02.2022, 20.02.2022 and now 22.02.2022.

Today is 22.02.2022 and what makes it even more special, it's a palindrome and a ambigram. The date can be read the same from left to right, right to left and upside down!

In numerology number 2 represents partnerships, the coming together or balancing of two individual people, concepts, or things. 2 is also a feminine energy holding both grace and power.

The number 2 occurs 5 times in today’s date. The essence of this day brings a huge shift in the energetic atmosphere. Therefore, today is a good day to take time and manifest your dream life.
Want to attract love❤️? Start loving yourself more and engage in activities you love doing. Want to manifest your dream career💼? Start engaging with the right people to build fruitful partnerships.

With the right minds and a positive attitude you can manifest anything you want. No time to waste⏰, there’s work to be done.

Let us know how your dreamlife looks like?

There’s no history without Black History. Every February, the United States pays a tribute to African Americans who have helped shape the nation. Nowadays Black History is a month that is celebrated worldwide🌍.

This year's theme is Black Health and Wellness. A very relevant theme as we enter the third year of the pandemic. The pandemic has had a profound and negative impact on black communities and placed an exceptional burden on Black health care professionals👩🏾‍⚕️👨🏾‍⚕️.

Do you know a health professional that deserves to be put in the spotlight? Let us know in the comments or send us a dm.

The meaning of this saying is: if you don't try to gain knowledge, you cannot have it🤓. And if you have the knowledge, but don't apply it in the right way, you cannot expect anything from it.

There's a saying, knowledge is power💪🏾. And, within this fast-paced digital era, information and knowledge are everywhere. The downfall is that there’s also a lot of misinformation on the internet.
That leaves us with questions as:

* How and where do you gain your knowledge and information?
* How do you deal with your knowledge?
* And finally, how do you distinguish facts from fables?

We are very curious. Let us know in the comments.👇🏾

And that’s it. No further explanation. said it all!

At the same time, this day is designated to eliminate gender-based challenges that little girls face around the world, including child marriages, poor learning opportunities, violence, discrimination and much more.

We’ve asked girls around the world about their future dreams and how they think the world will look like in the coming 20 years. Go to our stories to learn more.

Last but not least! Meet team member #3 Serena!

Hi everyone! My name is Serena. I was born and raised in Suriname. Currently living in the Netherlands with my husband and two daughters. In my daily life, I work as a children's coach.

I’m a very outgoing person and I love to connect with other people. I love arts, music, cooking, and baking and organizing parties or events for family and friends.

I’ve decided to join Fari Magazine because I was drawn to their mission to change the way black people are portrayed in the media. I think it is very important, to set a balanced image. I want to help bring beautiful and inspiring stories to our black community. Especially for the youth, because they’re our future.

Meet team member #2. Her name is Earline.

"Hi everyone. I am a loving, creative, curious, stubborn daughter, aunt and friend. In my daily life I am a social and cultural sciences student and I work as a supportive supervisor and youth coach. I have a passion for writing. I live to learn and I learn to live

I've decided to join Fari Magazine because I love writing for as long I can remember. When I was a young girl I wrote stories for friends and family to read but I stopped with that. I guess that had something to do with the teen in me who knew best at the time. But as you can see it kept calling me back to rekindle the fire, so here I am. Fari means to me that old passions always find a way back in your life no matter how they evolve"

Much Love
Earline

Hope to see you around

Being financially literate, in other words: having basic financial skills and knowledge. No, we are not talking about the economics subjects you got in school. We are talking about your finances. What does financial literacy mean and why does it have anything to do with you at all? Short answer: Everything! Being financially literate means dealing responsibly and consciously with money. It is very important to make wise choices and avoid negative consequences. It is annoying to make money and have to spend it on fines or debts all the time.
