Carnival has its humble beginnings as a family band in 1980’s called Sixx A.M. Performing on what most people know as the “Chitlin Circuit”, they were known for their live R&B music on Sixth Street in Austin, and through out the state of Texas. Carnival Beats is the group that brought Mike Jones with “Still Tippin” and "My 64" by (featuring Snoop Dogg and Bun B), “Sittin’ Sideways” by Paul Wall, “

Purple Stuff” and "Barre Baby" by Big Moe. Add to that, “Losing Composure” by Trae of Guerilla Maab, featuring Z-Ro and Yukmouth as guest vocalists, and "Like This n Like That" by Chingo Bling and the famous collaboration, "Draped Up" by Bun B featuring Slim Thug, Mike Jones, Paul Wall and Lil Keke and countless hits including platinum. Carnival Beats was the driving force pushing the flourishing Texas rap scene towards widespread notoriety and are responsible along with others for creating that "Houston Sound." The dynamic Williams family boasted of a production team of brothers Salih and Tomar; in addition to brothers Karriem and Ishaq rounding out the team. With the reorganizing of Carnival Beats/Carnival Soul Music, we can expect this label to be a compelling force on the new music scene bringing us more of that charismatic and energetic Texas sound which will surely impact the direction of R&B, Soul and rap music for years to come.
