The UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) has estimated significant contamination of explosive ordnance in the besieged Gaza Strip, even more than in Ukraine. Clearing this ordnance would require a "very significant amount of time" and "hundreds of millions of dollars," said an official.

The UN Environment Program estimates that currently, there are 37 million tons of rubble in Gaza, "which is more than Ukraine," comparing the front lines of both places to highlight the heavy destruction. The Ukrainian front line is 600 miles (965.6 kilometers) long, while Gaza's front line is only 25 miles (40 kilometers) long.

"There's a huge amount of rubble, 37 million tons. Ordnance might be under that rubble," he said.

A woman and her 9 year old brother were killed after a boulder which was thrown from a bridge between Tongaat and Ballito - KZN struck the vehicle they were travelling in a short while ago (Wednesday).

A large boulder hurled from a highway overpass on the N2 struck the windscreen of a Toyota Corolla beneath it crushing the woman and child. The woman’s husband who survived the rock strike rushed them to Netcare Alberlito Hospital were they were pronounced dead on arrival.

It is understood that the family had been travelling north to Stanger when the incident occured. The motive behind the murders has not been established however it is alleged that the suspects involved may have intended on robbing the family had they stopped to assess the damages on their vehicle.

The SAPS is investigating two counts of murder.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa did not attend the scene.

Reaction Unit South Africa is offering a R10 000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of suspects wanted for the murder of the Durban siblings killed in a stone throwing incident on the N2 near Ballito - Kwazulu Natal this week (Wednesday)

14 year old Amina Haffejee & 9 year old Abdur Rahim were killed when a boulder that was thrown from an overhead bridge crashed through the windscreen of their Toyota Corolla & crushed them both. The driver rushed the siblings to Alberlito Hospital in Ballito. They were both pronounced deceased on arrival.

If any residents in the area of the incident can provide information leading to the arrest or identification of the murder suspects, please contact Reaction Unit South Africa on 0861234333. The informers identification will not be disclosed & the cash reward will be paid on any positive information without delay
