Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream is an unscented, rich, thick, and luxurious cream that claims to provide deep hydration and at the same time help retain it. Enriched with Shea Butter, Beeswax, and Macadamia Seed Oil, this would surely help lock in moisture on your skin.

My experience with it is okay I guess. The first look inside the jar I instantly knew this was not for my skin type since it looks really thick and heavy but I was quite surprised as this didn’t felt heavy on my skin at all. It glides on smoothly on the skin and the texture is everything. I was afraid it would make my skin really greasy so I only put a small amount and it was indeed the appropriate amount for my oily skin. If I put more than that, my skin would look really greasy I can fry an egg on it 😅 I prefer to use this at night whenever I use my retinol serum. When I started using this with my retinol, my skin didn’t felt tight and dry the next day. It’s a good moisturizer but not THE PERFECT moisturizer for me. I think this will suit people with drier skin types. But here in the Philippines and with a skin type as oily as mine, I don’t think it’s a good idea to use this in the am. Anyway, I’ll continue to use this since it’s a good pair for my retinol.

Pyunkang Yul’s Moisture Serum is a lightweight, unscented, lotion-like serum with a milky and creamy texture. It claims to help the skin reach the optimal proportion of moisture and oil for a balanced, healthy complexion.

At first, I was hesitant to try this one because it was recommended for people with dry skin. I thought this would be too heavy for my skin type but it turned out really great. It gets absorbed by my skin easily and doesn’t make my skin greasy at all. It’s very hydrating for me and I think, this can also work as a moisturizer for oily skinned peeps. Two to three drops is enough for my whole face. Did I also mention that this serum is huge! The glass bottle contains a whopping 100 ml of the serum. You definitely get your money’s worth with this one.

As far as I noticed, this provided nourishment and moisture to my skin. This doesn’t promise anything about acne or skin textures but this would definitely help your skin’s moisture barrier and will keep your skin looking healthy. I can recommend this to all skin types. 💙

Pyunkang Yul’s Basic Line Review 1/3 💙

Pyunkang Yul’s Essence Toner is a hydrating toner which has a unique gel-like texture but not as viscous as I imagined it to be. Formulated with 91.3% Milk Vetch Root Extract which is a good anti-inflammatory ingredient. It claims to help replenish and energize skin.

Packaging-wise, I thought it was glass like the two other products in the line but it was not. It’s contained in a sturdy blue plastic packaging and has an aluminum foil seal.

The toner is unscented so no essential oils present which is a big plus for me bc I have sensitive skin. It also easily sinks into my skin. Within a minute, it’s already completely absorbed. It’s very hydrating and nourshing and it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling after application. I actually use this in my morning & evening routine and I really love it. I have yet noticed any anti-inflammatory effect in my more than 1 week of use but I can say that I’m really loving this one! 😍 I think this is perfect for all skin types especially people with dry skin. Will continue using this and update you guys of any further improvement on my skin while using this one!

Happy Monday everyone! Let’s start this week with a cleanser review 🧖🏻‍♀️

The Bioré Speedy Micellar Cleansing Foam Acne Care claims to dissolve light makeup and impurities through its micellar technology in just one wash and helps reduce excess oil and makeup residue that can cause acne. It also claims to contain antibacterial ingredients and Japanese Shinso Mint Extract.

This cleanser has a gel texture and the scent for me is okay. Its not overpowering enough to cause irritation. Keep in mind that I have oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin so this product is somewhat marketed for my skin type. I noticed how a little product goes a really long way with this cleanser. You only need a pea sized amount for your whole face and it’s also easy to rinse off! This doesn’t leave my skin hydrated but this also doesn’t leave my skin dry. Maybe a good thing because it doesn’t give that tight feeling after cleansing. But for my years of experience of searching for a good cleanser, hydrating cleansers work best for people with my skintype (or is it just my personal preference?). Anyway, this does leave my skin feeling refreshed and soft. Plus, this made my skin less oily! I also noticed that this contains alcohol which i usually avoid because my skin is easily irritated by it but i was lucky this product didn’t cause any irritation. This product claims to remove light makeup and so I tried removing my everyday makeup with this but sadly, it didn’t remove it all (or is my makeup not considered as light makeup?). The only thing this removed completely is my brow pomade, liptint and blush. There were still residues of my foundation and mascara, so I would still recommend double cleansing. Overall, this is not my type of cleanser but still, this is an interesting one to try.

This is a long overdue review since I really wanted to see the full effect of this toner on my skin.

The All Green Tea-rouble-away toner boasts 83% green tea water from Korea’s Jeju Island. It is a mild exfoliating toner as it contains plant derived PHA and AHA’s. Even peeps with sensitive skin can use this without worrying about irritation! This brand is also cruelty-free and artificial fragrance free! This liquid is tea-like in color and is more viscous than water. There is a subtle herbal scent which I’m really fond of. I prefer using this with a cotton pad just because I feel like the exfoliating claim works well with it. This is very hydrating and nourishing on the skin that I sometimes even layer this using my hands when I feel like I need an extra boost of hydration and nourishment. This feels very light on the skin, absorbs really quickly and does not leave any stickiness. Very gentle indeed as I didn’t feel any irritation or tingling while using this. This significantly reduced the texture on my jawline! Would highly recommend if you also have small bumps/skin texture. This will not only clear up your skin of its texture but will also leave your skin looking healthy, well-hydrated, plump, and even-toned! Would gladly purchase this after I empty this one. 🥰

Vitamin C is one of the staples on my stash mainly because I have acne-prone skin. I’m not new to using Vitamin C but this has been the highest concentration I’ve tried so far.

Cosrx recently released their Vitamin Serums and I was one of the lucky ones who got the chance to try all their serums. They’ve sent me their Retinol serum, Vitamin E serum E20 and of course, their Vitamin C serum C23.

Interestingly, this serum contains Propolis Extract which is very genius since Vitamin C with this high concentration tends to be a little bit drying on the skin. It also contains Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract and Niacinamide which are known to brighten the skin.

The serum is a little bit heavy for my liking but it does not leave a sticky feeling. It takes a while before it gets absorbed by my skin. 23% pure Vitamin C (with 99% purity) is indeed a really powerful antioxidant. I thought my skin was already used to using high conc Vitamin C serums but clearly, I wasn’t. The first few applications gave a tingly sensation which was still tolerable for me. I purged for a while and so I decided to use this together with my moisturizer. The purging subsided after sometime. This serum must be the most hydrating and soothing Vitamin C serum I have ever tried! Well, thanks to the Propolis Extract for that. I have a lot of acne scars and i’m thankful for this serum because I was able to witness them lighten in a span of a month. Some of my new acne scars are now gone while the stubborn ones slightly lightened. I love how this serum made my skin noticeably brighter and with an added healthy glow. I can see myself purchasing this one! 🥰

Y’all know how much I love Cica. I mean, who doesn’t? 🥰

The Cica Purifying Toner contains ofc Centella Asiatica which claims to help heal & protect damaged sensitive skin and restore the skin’s barrier. The product is contained in a 260 ml matte, plastic bottle. It has a watery consistency but I still prefer to use it with a cotton pad. The scent is lavender & yes, it has lavender essential oil which is something I would usually avoid in skincare products. But good news, bc Rovectin already reformulated its products and finally removed the EOs! 🥳 This didn’t react with my skin maybe bc the EO is the last one on the ingredient list.

This toner is very soothing and hydrating to use. My skin is currently loving this one! You can use it everyday but I’d recommend this to be used at night because it can remove the excess sebum, dirt, and makeup my cleansers cannot remove. This one really helps manage my mask-ne plus it also helps calm & soothe my inflamed zits! A great toner, indeed!

It’s no secret that I love sheet masks so imagine my happiness when sent me a box of ‘s Dr Mask Cica 💕

One box of Dr Mask Cica contains 5 sheet masks. It has clear, watery, gel-like texture & scent is really fresh & relaxing for me. It has Centella Asiatica, Madecassoside & Calamine which are all known to soothe and relax sensitive and irritated skin. A bit of warning though bc it also contains alcohol and it’s the third ingredient. It also has lavender oil but it’s at the end of the list. 👀 I was really hesistant to try this at first bc of the alcohol & EO content. Thankfully, my skin didn’t react badly to it. I did see some immediate calming & soothing effect on the redness on my jawline. My skin also felt really hydrated and bouncy. The fit & adherence was also good. The essence has initial tackiness at first but it goes away after a while. I just wish Rovectin would remove potentially sensitizing & irritating ingredients on the list since the mask’s main claim is to soothe the skin. Overall, i still think this is an interesting mask to try.

Truecare Line Review (3/3)

This travel kit/minis of the Truecare Line has to be my favorite from all the products I reviewed from this line 🥰
💞 Calamine 6.5 Cleanser: pink gel cleanser with calamine & with a citrus-y scent that turns into rich & dense foam. It’s very mild & gentle on the skin and it also doesn’t strip my skin of off its moisture. No tight feeling after cleansing!
💞 Panthenol 10 toner: I have already reviewed this one! Separate review is already down my feed!
💞 PHA Toner Pad: cotton pad generously soaked in 1% PHA which gently exfoliates your skin. No tingling felt! Very mild and would work even with sensitive skin types.
💞 Soothing Ampoule: a lighweight, watery ampoule that contains propolis. Easily absorbed by the skin. There is initial tackiness. It felt really hydrating and soothing to my skin! Excited to try the full size ❤️
💞 Cica Intensive Balm: an unscented balm that contains Retinol and Cica. I wans’t able to see any immediate effects but I think you’ll see one when you use this for a long period of time.
💞 Moist Recovery Cream: a thick, unscented cream which is a little heavy for my oily skintype. This looks more like a balm for me or a mask. I think dry skin types would love this.

Truecare Line Review (2/3)

Pro-vitamin B5 aka Panthenol is known to be a skin protectant which has anti-inflammatory properties. It has also been found to reduce skin irritation & help speed up wound healing. Panthenol can also improve skin’s hydration & elasticity.

The Innisfree Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin contains 10% Panthenol. It has a watery consistency which is very runny so I like to apply it using my hands. It’s lightweight on the skin yet very hydrating. Doesn’t leave a sticky feeling after application. This also gets absorbed pretty quickly. It does have a pungent smell which at first I couldn’t tolerate but after a few uses it smelled a lot better (bc I finally adapted to its smell 😆). Left my skin hydrated, plump & bouncy ❤️ I think this one is perfect for dry, sensitive skin & maybe acne-prone as well. It definitely does its job as a toner. The only con for me is the smell which I think others cannot tolerate.

Innisfree Truecare Line Review 💕 (1/3)

Ever since the new normal started, I noticed how I stopped using heavy makeup. Currently, I’m really fond of using tone-up creams which doubles as a moisturizer or a sunscreen. One of the products I’ve been reaching out everytime I go out is the .instalog Truecare Non-nano Sunscreen. The Truecare Non-nano Suncreen is a mild, inorgarnic, non-comedogenic, water-based, tone-up, physical sun cream that effectively blocks harmful UV rays and blue light. The texture is creamy and lightweight on the skin. The product is contained in a 40ml plastic squeeze tube which for me is still travel-friendly. It’s a tinted sunscreen so it definitely has a white cast. It has no distinct scent. The cream adjusts well to my skintone and provides light coverage so I don’t really see the need l to put on my foundation. 🥰 I love how the non-nano size ingredients has a particle size larger than those of the skin thus, I know the formula doesn’t get absorbed by my skin & stays gentle which really works well with my sensitive skin. And if i’m not mistaken, I know that physical sunscreen works best on people with sensitive skin. It’s also very hydrating on the skin! It has light dewy finish but it doesn’t make my skin oilier than usual. I didn’t experience any adverse reaction while using this product so it’s really a plus for me since I have oily, acne-prone & sensitive skin. The greatest thing about this one is that it has dual function because it shields your skin from UV rays and blue light so whether you’re outside or just staying inside in front of your mobile phone or your laptop, you know you’re safe the harsh blue light your phone/laptop emits. This is a really great find! ❤️

Love at first mask 💚

I have started my love for mugwort last month. Mugwort is one of the skincare ingredients that quickly made its way as one of my favorite plant-based skincare ingredients. I haven’t actually tried any wash-off mask with mugwort so this is my first. Plus, this is also my entry for 🥰

When I first tried this mask, I instantly fell in love with it! I had a breakout on my jawline that time and this definitely helped my skin. I use this 2-3x a week to exfoliate my skin. I find it really gentle on the skin since the Adzuki bean is really soft to touch. What I love most about it is it’s so easy to rinse off unlike the other clay masks I’ve tried before. This is also surprisingly not drying on the skin even with the kaolin and bentonite in its ingredient. 😱 The scent is earth-y and very subtle. It easily dissipates after application. My skin was visibly less red and irritated after just one use! My zits were noticeably less inflamed. I also noticed an instant brightening effect after each use maybe because of the Licorice on the ingredient list. Overall, I really love this mask! Tbh, i’m actually masking while writing this review 😂 & that’s how you know I really love this one! I just can’t get enough of it! Would definitely recommend and repurchase! 💚💚💚

i think i just found my favorite sunscreen 🎋🐼

I have been looking for a sunscreen that’s perfect for my skin type and i think i just found it. ❤️ The Keep Cool Soothe Bamboo Essence is a non-sticky, lightweight, moisture-essence sunscreen which dries down to a semi-matte finish which I’m really a fan of bc I have a very oily skin 🥰 I love how this sunscreen contains 40% Bamboo Essence water, Cica, & 7 layers of Hyaluronic Acid which explains why this sunscreen feels so hydrating and calming on the skin. 🥰 it also contains Patented B-Circadin which protects and relieves skin from effects of daily stress. I love how the nozzle is slim and transparent. I always look forward to squeezing this cute tube bc it’s so satisfying to watch 😂 But the greatest thing i love about this one is it doesn’t have any fragrance, alcohol & essential oils which can sensitized skin. There’s no con on this product! You did a very good job I would highly recommed this one especially if you have oily, sensitive skin and would definitely repurchase once I finish this! 😍

I encountered a problem with my Lightroom account today. When I updated the app, I signed in as usual but to my surprise, all my pictures and presets were gone. I’m still pi**ed bc now, I have to manually edit my photos again & I don’t have any idea if the edit is even close to my feed. This photo is my first manual edit & is it even close to my previous edits? Idk 😐 i’m still upset & sad at the same time.

Anyway, I just want to share my first impression on ‘s Cica Balm which generously provided for review purposes.

This balm can be used as a moisturizer or as a spot treatment. It claims to hydrate, calm & soothe irritated, red & inflamed skin and at the same time heal & repair the skin’s moisture barrier. It also helps reduce appearance of darks spots and acne scars. The balm is contained in a 40 ml white plastic squeeze tube with a screw cap. It’s travel-friendly and will surely fit into your purse. The balm has Calamine, which has anti-inflammatory & soothing properties, Centella Asiatica & Madecassoside, which also has the ability to soothe & calm irritated skin & helps heal wounds faster. The balm is tinged pink (which comes from Calamine). It has a creamy texture & a bit of a thick consistency that’s why I prefer to use it a spot treatment & not as a moisturizer. The scent is somewhat herbal and you can definitely smell the lavender aroma bc it has lavender oil but the scent dissipates after a few minutes. I was worried my skin would react to it but thankfully, it didn’t. Maybe because the lavender oil was the last ingredient on the list. But worry no more, bc Rovectin will now be removing these EO’s from the balm and their other products so it’s a happy day for us people with sensitive skin! 🥳 This balm can definitely calm your angry zits! It’s also very hydrating! The only thing I didn’t see any improvement on yet is my acne scars. But I’m giving this one more credit on its soothing and calming effect. Goodbye inflamed pimples & redness! This has been my go-to spot treatment ever since I opened it & it works well even on its own. 🥰
