OVA005: Ao - Abandoned By Beauty
Experimentalist and bass producer Ao unleashes his first released track ever Abandoned By Beauty on Outer Village as the final single of our Interlocked VA Album with full release next friday on the 3rd of May 2024.
Abandoned By Beauty is forward thinking drum and bass from an outside of the scenes type of perspective. With an unorthodox approach to structure and complex noise-infused chords overruling the stereo image, Ao sets the stage for an original take on how hard-hitting drum & bass is supposed to sound. On the second part of the tune, Ao deconstructs the theme in unsung glitchy grooves at half time.

We are happy to have K2T on the team, delivering this belter of a tune for us that you can locate through our Linktree in the bio.
Here’s what K2T had to say about this release, Nightmare Street:
“I made Nightmare Street live on my Twitch stream around Halloween to both try my hand at something a bit spookier and creepier, as well as do my take on halftime as I’ve always enjoyed that sound over the course of the last 10 years or so. As soon as I had a number of creepy drones forming the backdrop of this tune, the rest of the track came together fairly quickly, and was great fun to make. I love pushing myself into making different styles of music and it’s great to be associated with Outer Village Audio and their openness to experimentation.”

OVA005: Interlocked Album
We are proud to announce the first single of our Various Artists album, Interlocked (OVA005). It’s from our very own M-71 with his signature breakbeat magic stepping to kick off your weekend.
There are two more singles coming out in April before final launch, which is 3rd of May.
We’ve gathered a total of 15 individual artists for the album from primarily local scenes - many who release for the first time in a mixture of vibes in deep-end electronica and bass music.

Outer Village is an estate of experienced electronic music producers with one common vision to help shape the future of bass-oriented, experimental electronic music in Copenhagen. It’s a collective of open-minded artists inspired by alien grooves, ambivalent ambience, noise-infused soundscapes and distorted breakbeats. In this regard, a crucial part of its identity is an insistence on an eclectic approach, welcoming and encouraging new blends and styles. The Village works actively toward hybrid outputs, expanding our roots to support fresh, as of yet unseen, connections in the Copenhagen underground.
