DNews Reporter, Kaitlynn Stein, is nominated for a Natas-Mid Atlantic Chapter Student Production Award for her report on Story Medicine, a unique cross-collaborative course led by Nomi Eve at Drexel University. We'll learn at the Emmy Awards next month if Kaitlynn takes home an award. Story Medicine is a course for Drexel University undergraduates that meets in the Seacrest Television Studio at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). It is a one-of-a-kind course that aims to reach hospitalized children with joyful, innovative, and child-focused programming.

DNews, Drexel University's award-winning student-produced monthly TV news magazine airs on multiple online platforms as well as on DUTV in the Philadelphia metropolitan area (Comcast channels 54 or 62 and Verizon channel 47).

The Winter 2018-2019 quarter show airs on Friday, May 17 at 8PM. The show’s hosts are Chris Markowitz and Laurel Yaros.

The episode includes a close-up look at Philadelphia’s opioid crisis, through the lens of Drexel University Photography alum, Jeffrey Stockbridge. DNews reporters also take you to the URBN Center’s Black Box Theater for She Kills Monsters, the cross-collaboration between Drexel’s Co-op Theatre Company and Entrepreneurial Game Studio. You’ll learn how the Drexel Women’s Basketball Team is making assists, both on the court and off. DNews will also take you inside two area events – one focusing on edgy artwork and the other on mythical creatures.

Stories for DNEWS are selected, coordinated, produced, shot, edited and presented by undergraduate students from the Department of Cinema & Television working interdisciplinary with students from across the University.

The deadline to register for the 2019 Interdisciplinary Design Charrette has been extended to April 8th!

Hosted by the Department of Architecture, Design & Urbanism and the Department of Design in partnership with Korea's studio_GAON, the 2019 Charrette proposes the closing of selected single blocks to normal traffic in various parts of Philadelphia. Reconceiving the street as a truly public space presents profound design and cultural challenges and the charrette will welcome students from ANY MAJOR to participate.
