This Saturday Amber Benson will be presenting the Inspiration Award to Jane Espenson!
his Saturday, June 13, The Egyptian has Etheria Film Night, which showcases the best and most innovative new horror, science fiction, fantasy, action and thriller films directed by women.
4:00pm: The North American premiere of Inner Demon, directed by Ursula Dabrowsky, about a woman who escapes abduction by a serial killer couple only to find herself in a house haunted by a malevolent spirit. Preceding it are the shorts Grim Grinning Ghost by Axelle Carolyn (from the upcoming Tales of Halloween anthology) and Coward by Karen Gillan.
Following the feature is a discussion with Dabrowsky and Fangoria's Rebekah McKendry. There is also a brief introduction and discussion between shorts with Carolyn, Gillan (Dr Who), and producer Mali Elfman.
8:00pm: Shorts competition. There is a cocktail party/reception from 6:00-7:30pm, and at 7:30 Amber Benson and Juliet Landau and Tricia Helfers (Battlestar Galactica) will present the Inspiration Award to Jane Espenson!!
Program begins with 2 shorts: "Grim Grinning Ghost," Dir. Axelle Carolyn, USA, Horror, 8 min. From the upcoming TALES OF HALLOWEEN anthology, a sneak peek of Axelle Carolyn's ghost story segment. With Alex Essoe, Lyn Shaye, Barbara Crampton, Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon and Lisa Marie.
