Had a fantastic time on a panel at the Swimming Live festivities hanging with these amazing ladies - Olympic gold medalist and Dr. Angela Beale-Tawfeeq from We also lucked out and we bumped into Gold Medalist doing his thing with Speedo!

The USA Olympic Swimming Trials are in Indy and on behalf of Studio Auteur, Diversity in Aquatics and Lincolnwoodland Productions, we’re excited to be screening a 25 minute teaser of “When Everyone Swims” next Thursday and Sunday at Indy’s best movie theater experience

30 years ago I directed a documentary called “Facing the Facade” about Black student life at Indiana University s predominant white college campus.

Now 30 years later, I cannot be more proud of the students who took the P435 class to work in teams to create their own “Facing the Facade” type documentaries. Thanks to for creating the class, thanks to the Black Philanthropy Circle for their support and a huge thanks to Susanne Schwibs for co-teaching the class. I was also a student of Susanne’s in 1990! Shout out to Jens and Brian

Finally thanks to the professors and IU Libraries Moving Image Archives.

I’m just so blown away by the talent and professionalism of these students from IU’s Media School, they did such an amazing job. Be on the look out for their films

Yesterday was the 72nd Anniversary of the Johnny Bright incident. Yesterday was also the debut of The Bright Path in Fort Wayne, the birthplace of Mr. Bright at the Hobnobben Film Festival. And yesterday The Bright Path won The Best Documentary Award with Bre Johnson in attendance!!! An amazing day for The Bright Path and the Bright family 🥳🥳🥳

Huge announcement for “The Bright Path: The Johnny Bright Story”!

To date The Bright Path has aired nationally on CBS Sports Network and PBS affiliates across the country. It’s been selected to 13 film festivals including Heartland Film Festival which is special to me because I started my career around the time Heartland launched which means we’re both old! Special props to Greg Sorvig for getting us submitted.

The great sports journalist Bill Rhoden says in the documentary that the story of Johnny Bright needs to be told over and over again. And I know we’re all so honored to have this documentary so well received nationally and internationally.

Again a big thanks to the Bright family, Executive Producers, Crew, Sponsors and all involved with bringing this story.

I am honored and humbled that my work spanning my career will have a home at the Indiana University Black Film Center Archives. My experiences as an undergraduate student at Indiana University laid the invaluable foundation that molded me into the filmmaker that I am today.

I want to personally thank my IU professors, Gloria Gibson, Brian Powell, Gary Doc Sailes, Suzanne Schwibs and James Naremore for their guidance and inspiration.

There were so many IU classmates who helped me along the way, but I want to send a special thanks to Christian Carroll, Angela Huffman, Lara Decker Pastore, Mark Nisenbaum, Anthony Favors and Jens Knudsen.

I want to extend my sincerest love and appreciation to my family at the Indiana Memorial Union where I had the resources and support to find my voice as an aspiring filmmaker as a Union Board Director.

And finally, I want to extend a huge thanks to the wonderful people at the Indiana University Black Film Center Archives: Rachael Stoeltje – my former “Study Buddy”, Amber Bertin, Ja Quita Roberts, Dan Hassoun, and Essence London.

Huge props to for doing a spectacular job is hosting our sneak peek of “The Bright Path: The Johnny Bright Story”. Most in attendance hadn’t been to Kan-Kan before but they all loved the experience.

My Brother in Law David A. Arnold was scheduled to perform in Indianapolis tonight but as most of you know David was abruptly taken away from us. At the time of his passing, David the Creator and Showrunner on the hit Nickelodeon Show “That Girl Lay Lay”; he had 2 Netflix Specials and he and my sister Julie and their daughters entertained a huge social media following. David was an enormous success and he was just getting started.

David endured a lot of unfortunate setbacks along the way and I always marveled at his resilience to stay the course. His work ethic was unparalleled.

David touched so many lives and will continue to do so with the work he’s left behind. He will always keep ‘em laughing. ’tfortheweak
