* State Halts Daycare Vouchers and Food Stamps

There are rumors from community members that the NCDHHS has halted processing of day care vouchers and food stamps in Davison County to enable the County DSS department work on its backlog paperwork.

Investigations reveals that the voucher office has been chronically understaffed with only one person processing vouchers for the entire County for almost 4 months.

Several community members speaking to DCNC 24/7 on condition of anonymity said the problem goes up to the County Manager’s office headed by Casey Smith and the ineffective County Commissioners.

“The systems at the office have virtually broken down and no one is noticing because the benefits do not affect the rich of Davidson County,” lamented one community member.

The Davidson is a Republican stronghold and most commissioners do not care about voting consequences as long as they are Republicans they know they will win the next elections.

Governor Roy Cooper Slams the GOP -

He writes, “GOP demand for passage of their backroom casino deal in exchange for a state budget and Medicaid expansion is the most brutally dishonest legislative scheme I’ve seen in my 3+ decades. People are right to be suspicious. Something has a grip on Republican leaders and it’s not the people of NC.”

The Governor and the Democrats are locked in budget negotiations with the GOP with Cooper demanding for Medicaid expansion for thousands of citizens in the state.

The GOP holds the supreme majority in the state legislature.

** Young women on a mission to end a gang of alleged rapists in Trinity, NC.

Candace Olson posted below seeking information on other young women who have fallen victims to a trio of men who have been terrorizing young victims for years.

Since she posted that about 15 hours ago, several women have come out narrating ordeals of r**e in incidents that can only be liked to movies or real life drama.

So far Alexis Powell, Kristen Kinton, and Brittany Donathan have come to narrate similar stories. What makes this story bizarre is that there are allegations that their dad who is in law enforcement, supposedly in Randolph County has been intimidating victims and sometimes even transport naked girls and dumping them on side roads.

Protesters for the statue
==================

Protesters for the statue that was removed on Thursday night came out yesterday and today in full force in Lexington, North Carolina.

Their racist tirades at the Square came out like never before calling any black individual in their sight n**r and other foul words they unleash. On the other hand the anti-statue protesters have since left the square.

The scene is very uncivilized, racist, and unfortunate.

Judge has removed the restraining order
==============================

The temporary restraining order that was obtained by Davidson County Commissioners to stop the City of Lexington from removing the confederate statue from Uptown Lexington has been removed by the Judge.

This means, the City of Lexington which has agreed to pay for the removal of the controversial statue is in the clear to go ahead and safely remove the statue in accordance with the agreement reached with the owners of the statue, the Robert E. Lee chapter of the Daughters of the Confederate.

The statue has been a center of contentions, business disruptions, near fights, and arrests for over hundred days. Unity for Change a local organization formed during the period of anti-statue protest has led the charge against the monument flanked by members of the local chapter of the NCAAP, prominent community leaders, and clergy.

On the other side community members guarding the statue have stood fast well for almost the period; on some occasions joined by the “Proud Boys” from outside town and other white supremacists from other towns.

During all this time the Lexington Police Department has provided law enforcement with occasional help from Davidson County Sheriffs department. Will this end the protest Uptown and bring some semblance of normalcy? We wait to see!

DAVIDSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS - BLOCK REMOVAL OF STATUE

The Lexington City public statement below.

LEXINGTON, NC (October 9, 2020) – In an effort to ensure safety and restore peace in our community, last night the City of Lexington had planned to remove the Confederate Monument located in Uptown Lexington and place it in storage. The removal was organized in collaboration with the monument’s owners, as they work to save the monument and relocate it outside the city limits.

At approximately 5:00 PM yesterday, despite sound objections from both the City of Lexington and the monument’s owners, the County once again became an obstacle to a peaceful resolution by securing a temporary restraining order that halted the removal of the monument.

After yesterday’s order, Debra Barta, president of the Robert. E. Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy, No. 324 expressed frustration with the County’s actions.

The City of Lexington is deeply disappointed Davidson County continues to ignore the deeply divisive nature of the monument, as well as the threat it poses to both public safety and our business community.

Davidson County is on the wrong side of history. To many, this monument is a symbol of oppression and a painful reminder of racial injustice. As we aspire to become a City of Choice, and perhaps most importantly, a City of Unity, we remain committed to creating an inclusive, safe and welcoming community. We pledge to continue to fight for what is right and just.

A court hearing is set for October 15, 2020, at 10:00 AM. The City of Lexington will continue to provide updates as available and appropriate.
