I’m ready for all the amazing events Huntsville has to offer this summer. Food truck rallies, movies in the park, concerts in the park, the Orion, Trash Pandas games, farmers markets, festivals- this list is long. Literally something for everyone!

Growing up I remember being on a family trip with my parent’s company - other employees and their families from the all over the country were on this trip too. One morning at breakfast, someone asked me where I was from. I proudly stated “Huntsville!”, thinking everyone knew Huntsville- how could you not?? The man looked at me and said “where’s that?” I began to explain….

Fast forward 25 ish years and Huntsville, AL has been ranked #1 best place to live and my kiddo self feels very validated! For me I think it’s the fact that Huntsville seems to have something for everyone. It’s a city full of engineers and yet the creativity we are cranking out is amazing. You can still run into folks you know at Little Rosie’s or meet someone new and be floored by their story!

Sure there were times growing up I swore that I’d move away and never come back- but I moved away and moved back and I just can’t get over this small,big,town.

Keely bird. Today you are 5! My oh my all the ways you’ve grown in a year!! You’re clever, inquisitive, beautiful, confident, creative and such a joy! You test limits, ask questions, make us chuckle and are learning to be bold! I want you to be proud of yourself for trying so many new things this past year- your first roller coaster, bike riding, school, soccer, piano- the list goes on and on.You are oh so loved. Tiramisu Paperie is here Huntsville! An adorable storefront with the snarkiest, wittiest, funniest cards and paper products! Matt and I laughed our way through the cards, stickers and mugs. I was even able to check teacher gifts off my to-do list!! So excited to have them in Huntsville- they even sent us with a fabulous swag bag!

I didn’t finish a single book in March. Yes I’m behind schedule on my goal- no I’m not worried about it. March was busy, April will be busier!! I spent March listening to podcasts- you know I listened to episodes 4&5 of ! I also got hooked on the Murdaugh murders podcast! Still catching up on it!

Last weekend we bundled up and headed to buffcitysoap.huntsvilleal to check out the early spring scents and do some shopping!

The most exciting thing we discovered? LIP BALM! When I tell you we were pumped, I mean it! I chose mellow mint while Keely went with vanilla! I love that it’s full of natural ingredients!

What I read February

Short month- short list of books!

Beach Read- I really appreciated the character development and struggles both had to overcome. Parts towards the end felt slightly cheesy and red-flaggy but hey that’s why it’s fiction.

The greatest love story ever told- if I could invite them to our wedding I would. I love celeb memoirs but this just topped them all! These two are adorably in love but also super cool independent people.

Summer on the bluff- a slow start but I really loved this book. I loved hearing about each woman’s unique past and what brought them all together!

The Ladies List- shameless plug of course- episodes 2&3 came out in February!

Well today is National Retro Day so let me take you back to the early 2000s when Kevin and Howie from the Backstreet Boys, held a press conference at Madison Square Mall. They spent a long time talking about the hotel they were investing in- my seventh grade brain wasn’t so into the hotel idea, though it sounded cool- I was just counting down the minutes til it was meet and greet time. Also peep the “vintage” Paris tank top.

Nothing like a good book and a yummy snack!

I packed our new bites for a trip to the library this week! These chocolate-y covered marshmallows make the perfect, poppable sweet treat and they fit right in my purse 🙌!

We are loving the s'mores flavor right now- the birthday cake bites are decadent and the coconut go surprisingly well in hot chocolate!
