A story in four pictures.

So much fun to cheer on Big Neil today at the final round of the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship at Knockhill. Weather was horrid to start but eventually cleared to a lovely (if a bit windy) autumn day. Dad drove very well despite the dreaded third gear woes returning, causing a couple of spins. Nonetheless he finished 3rd in class - time to reset and get both cars (and drivers!) ready for 2025! 🏁

It's race week! But unfortunately not for me. I woke up on Monday with a painful lump on the collarbone I broke five years ago and after no significant improvement and on multiple doctors' advice, sadly I won't be competing in the final round of the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship this weekend. I'm absolutely gutted after a mammoth effort to get the car ready in time.

However, Dad will be making the long trek north up to Knockhill today to get out in his Clio for one more time in 2024. Can't wait to see how he gets on - wishing Big Neil all the luck in the world and hoping he can bring home another podium!

Production Final report. Superb race, we finished 6th overall and third in class. Podium baby! 🏁

Heat 3 was a mixed bag unfortunately with a costly driving error. Full focus on salvaging a good result from the final now.

Heat 2, 4th again but top 1600 in my race. A few mistakes to iron out but I’m happy with that.

A bit about me!

Hello!

I’m Tom. I’m a Sports Commentator and Journalist and I’ve been working in media since the age of 13. I started out volunteering for a local radio station whilst at secondary school, presenting various shows over my seven year tenure there, including the Breakfast Show for nine months at the age of 16.

Whilst studying for my GCSEs, I decided that I really wanted to have a career that I’d enjoy and having been fascinated with motor racing for as long as I can remember (even attempting to race once upon a time), coupled with using my voice on an almost daily basis, working as a sports commentator was something that really did appeal to me. At the time, I was also writing for a few Formula 1 news websites too.

I began by commentating over some old racing videos and sticking them up on YouTube and before long it began gaining some traction. By pure chance, a friend I worked with in my part-time job was a sim racer and said that the series he raced in produced highlights which were likely to be broadcast on television.
