This is the skull of "Donna del Caviglione" (Woman of Caviglione cave), found at the Late Palaeolithic burial of Cave Caviglione (Balzi Rossi), Italy.
Her skeleton was unearthed in 1872 by archaeologist Emile Rivière.
The peculiarity of her skull is that it's entirely covered by small marine shells and red deer teeth.
This beautiful funerary headpiece suggests that the people of this time might have believed in life after death.
