Very cool wave clouds popped up over the Outer Banks of NC this morning.

A tornado warning is in effect for parts of Abbeville and Anderson counties until 6:45 pm. A tornado and quarters size hail are possible. Seek shelter as falling trees and flying debris can present extreme hazards. Residents in Laurens county should monitor the situation and prepare for the potential of severe weather as this storm tracks northeast.

Tell me that doesn't look out of place? Today Fort Smith, Canada in the northwest territories hit a mind-boggling 103°. That was warmer than Las Vegas, NV today and the warmest temperature ever recorded north of 60° north latitude for reference the arctic circle is at 66° north latitude. This same location has an all-time record low of -65° and now an all-time record high of 103°, just WOW! 😲😳

The NWS has completed a survey of the damage in Abbeville and Greenwood counties and concluded that it was caused by an EF-2 tornado.

The tornado warnings for parts of Laurens and Greenwood counties have expired and were replaced with a severe thunderstorm warning until 4:15 pm.

A confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado is expected to pass through northern Greenwood and southern Laurens counties through 3:30 pm. Please seek shelter immediately as strong winds may destroy buildings and uproot trees.

Residents in northern Greenwood and southern Laurens counties should closely monitor the weather situation in Abbeville county and prepare to seek shelter should a tornado warning be issued. Mobile homes are not safe shelter during a tornado and should be abandoned for sturdier structure.
