I'm hoping to use my page in the fight to help Radio Caroline to be heard on the Medium Wave band.
Although one can hear Caroline through Sky Television' but not every one has Sky. To Win the fight in getting Radio Caroline where they should have been before now' it will help those who remember the station through out the 1960s / 1970s and also there are many young people who have heard of Radio Caroline from their parents' grand parents and want to hear Radio Caroline just like their Mums and Dads Did when their were teenages.
The Fortunes recorded a song called Caroline' during their time on air' Radio Caroline used it to open and close every day of the week. In fact to help in promoting the song' hoping it would help Caroline into the music charts in the UK and Europe.
Having seen the film myself' it must have taken a time to get it together..

If you look hard at this black & white picture' you will see' Tony Prince with the King of Rock & Roll Elvis Presley. Tony had his own programme on Radio Luxembourg and very popular it was too. When Tony made up his mind to stop broadcasting' he along with a number of people put together' Disco Mix Club' which became very popular during its early days and has grown and grown since those early times' with many of its member going on become so of the worlds best producers / music mixers.
Although not directly in Pirate Radio' I wanted to pay tribute to some one who always did his best for the DJ & the music they played.

The 100's of requests for songs to played on Radio Caroline. This went on weekly' it shows just how popular the station was.
Here are another 1960s / 1970's close harmony group' I can remember them being played on the radio late in the night while driving back from a number of shows at that time.
I still have a number of their recordings' plus a few things on DVD recordings. I would like to see and hear Vanity Fair and others such as' The Barron Knights' Fortunes' The Searchers having their own shows being shown by the BBC' (Local etc) and every TV stations today and forever.

In this picture is pirate Radio Legend' Mr Colin Day' Colin is still broadcasting live on line every evening. Every show is different and the music he plays is the best. I listen to his broadcast nightly and enjoy it more and more. Keep on Rockin'

Kenny Everett. I have so many recordings of Kenny's radio programme' with each one so different. Kenny was not just a DJ! He was a artist' who worked so hard in getting what ever he did just right. Just like so many major music / radio before him, have also passed away before their time.
I have often said it before' they including Kenny have left so much of their work' its great to know' they will be with us forever.
Warning. With so much of Music made on Computer etc' Will It Last as long as the songs of the 1950 and early that are still being played on Radio around the world. We live In Hope.....

In this picture DLT & Tony Prince can be seen arriving at a Liverpool railways station. This was the seen that many of the DJ's would get when they came home for a break away from the stations on the sea. It was said at one time' they were more popular than many of the groups who were have hit records. The fact is' the DJ could make or break a record who ever made it.
I believe this was the main reason the UK government wanted to shut them down. They wee scared of the power they had over the young ones of the day.

The Caroline Movement Bulletin No 52
This Bulletin is from 1991 and is the Summer Special' it has so much information through out its pages' which gives so more information on what was going on at Radio Caroline. In Fact it sometimes more information than many of the larger magazines that were around at the time.
David "Kid" Jensen became one of my favorite DJ's / Radio Presenters when I heard his show on Radio Luxembourg. Kid also enjoyed going out on the road. These live shows became very popular in night clubs across the United Kingdom.
We must also remember his days on pirate radio' where he became the DJ / Radio Presenter he is today where he can still be heard today in 2012.
This picture taken fro Deejay and Radio News And Shows one of the best US DJ's to be heard as a radio pirate and at Radio One. He had so much energy which he put into all his show weather it was on radio or disco nights across the UK.
Rosko today is still broadcasting from his own studio in his home in the USA. I believe he can be heard on line via his web page.
In This picture we have the invite to attend the Radio Caroline 30th Birthday Bash on the 26th of March 1994. It was presented by' East Anglican Productions & sponsored by the Jumbo Label.
There were so many radio people attending' it would take me some time to list them all.

Radio London send these car window poster' it was sent to anyone who wrote to Radio London and ask for it to be snt to them.
The one I have placed on this page is from my own personal collection of Pirate Radio memorabilia. I also have others from Radio Caroline' Radio Atlantis, RNI and many more.
Hope seeing this one will bring back happy memories for all who have joined this page for the fist time.
Mr Roger Day early promotional full Colour picture when he had his own promgamme of Invicta Radio.
"Deejay And Radio Monthly" had some excellent features on many of those who were heard on Radio Caroline' Radio London. DJ's such as' Tony Blackburn' and Paul Burnett Etc.
It also played their part in keeping Pirate Radio alive during the early days of BBC Radio One.
During the early days of the 1970s' Radio Luxembourg and their DJ's would be a part of the 208 Tamla Disco Show which went into the local Top Rank club during September through to February to great success.
The DJ's who fronted the show was' Kid Jensen' Tony Prince' Paul Burnett And Mark Wesley.

The Rolling Stones Were Number One With "Angie" On Radio Noordzee music charts between the 3rd to 10th November 1973.
The station produced there on Top 50 a number of years before this one. I have a small number of chart listings' this one is numbered 137.
This top 50 chart has a cross section of the music that was being sold via this top 50 charts' such stars as' Slade' Carpenters, Sweet and Brian Ferry with A Hard Rain Gonna Fall.
Here Is Another magazine that supported pirate radio. There are some excellent articles written by'Mark Wesley and Andy Archer. In The center of the magazine it has a excellent picture showing' Radio RNI. Although only a small number pages' it always had interesting features through out.
Beatwave Magazine. No 2. 1967.
This Magazine supported Free Radio Such As' Radio Caroline. Radio London Etc. It also had some wonderful Coloured pictures of the DJ's who were on both stations. It also supported the fight to "Save Our Stations". If you agreed and most of use did' you were asked to sign a letter printed found inside the magazine' where you were asked to sign a printed letter and send it to Beatwave office in London.
Swinging Radio England Taken From The 4th Edition of The 1969 Newspaper' Free Radio News. It Is Hard To Believe Today With The Price of Things Today' in 1969 This Excellent Paper Cost Just 10p A Month.
In This Picture Taken From A Page In The Newspaper' Free Radio News 1989 And Shows Radio Caroline At The Dock Side in Holland. The Ship Was Waiting For Someone To Get On Board And Take It Back To The North Sea To Start Broadcasting Once Again.
I Understand It Was At The Dock Side For Quite A Long Time Sadly.

One of The Stories Tells of The Return To The Airways of Tony Baron .
Over the years there has been one DJ / Presenter who is still one of the best' he is of course' Johnny Walker. He was also one of the last person to leave Radio Caroline. Today he can be heard doing a great job on BBC Radio Two' which has a massive following for a show which is broadcast on a Saturday afternoon. I have a collection of his recording while he was a radio pirate' Johnny is even better today than he was when at sea.
The Caroline Movement Magazine' Bulletin 54' issued on the 15th February 1992. In the picture on the front of this magazine show a number of CM club members nearing Radio Caroline. CM became the Largest Offshore Radio Enthusiast Group in the United Kingdom. When reading this magazines one can read and see why
Born in 1943' Jack Curtis a American DJ who began broadcasting on Radio KMPX on air in his home town of San Francisco. While with Radio England he became a popular member of the team of DJ's on board Radio England.
