Joe and Simon had no idea the turmoil that was coming for them when they set out to climb Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes.

Simon, the younger of the two, made a Herculean effort to save Joe’s life and get them both back to base camp. But, when Joe went flying off a ledge, his only option became the one where he was forced to cut the rope.

Listen to Exclusive Episode #4 to find out how Joe made it back to camp, on his own, and just in the nick of time.

Dogs. They hold a special place in our souls and their paw prints fill the space when we feel empty and alone. They’re a special animal and many of us claim that we would fight fire and ice to save our sweet, energetic and lovable friends.

And then there are the dogs who go to work. They’re not just a companion but a being that helps us accomplish our goals. Our dreams.

And for one woman, on a cold day in 2022, she fought for her dogs lives. And later, it would be her own.

No matter how you look at World War 2, it was tragic on levels beyond our own comprehension. Life was severed and lost and many parents went their entire lives without confirmation of when or how their children died. The Crane family experienced the same fate in 1944 when their youngest son went missing.

But no one knew he was the shadow walking through Alaska in the middle of winter.

To win a race is energizing. To set a record in that race is exhilarating. But to win a race, where the event has never been accomplished before? Well, that’s pure magic.

And that magic is exactly what caused 9 men to set sail in 1968 to be the first to sail, non-stop, alone around the world.

And the magic is also why only 1 returns.

When a storm came in and knocked out power to 360,000 homes and businesses, it was a miracle that one man on the summit of Mount Hood had cell phone reception.

And the information held in that 6 minute conversation would lead rescuers to discover that they would be a day too late.
