Look at the picture above. A student at the University of Montana in Missoula captured this image of our founder Beth Hammock in 2011. Beth is on the right. Cecil Foster is on the left. Cecil and Beth were guiding a brand strategy project for the university. Cecil was president of Mind Over Media, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He told Beth he wanted to climb the M behind campus.
“Sure!” said Beth, who regularly hit the trail over her lunch break. When Cecil and Beth reached the top, they reveled in the stunning view of the Missoula Valley and the University of Montana beneath them.
In addition to showing a stunning location, the photo tells a story of the close relationship of two marketing leaders who took an hour to get outdoors. It also illustrates Beth’s interests in adventure and pushing boundaries. While in Montana, she learned to ski at age 48 and now skis challenging runs with ease.
“Nothing scares me, I’m the mother of twins,” Beth says.
