গামোচা
Gamosa, a symbol of the culture and identity of Assam, has received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag from the central government. The handwoven rectangular fabric is made of cotton and features red borders, signifying the cultural heritage of the state.The GI tag has been registered in favour of the Directorate of Handloom & Textiles of the Assam government under the Geographical Indication of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999. The certificate has been awarded for ‘Gamosa’ as of October 16, 2017, as per the application by the directorate. The process was started in 2017 when an application for a GI tag was filed by the Institute of Handicraft Development of Golaghat district.
অসমৰ সংস্কৃতি আৰু পৰিচয়ৰ প্ৰতীক গামোছাই কেন্দ্ৰীয় চৰকাৰৰ পৰা ভৌগোলিক ইণ্ডিকেচন (জিআই) টেগ লাভ কৰিছে। হাতেৰে বোৱা আয়তাকাৰ গামচাখন কপাহেৰে নিৰ্মিত আৰু ইয়াত ৰঙা সীমা আছে, যিয়ে ৰাজ্যখনৰ সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য সূচায়। জিআই টেগটো অসম চৰকাৰৰ হস্ততাঁত আৰু বস্ত্ৰ সঞ্চালকালয়ৰ সপক্ষে সামগ্ৰীৰ ভৌগোলিক ইণ্ডিকেচন (পঞ্জীয়ন আৰু সুৰক্ষা) আইন, 1999-ৰ অধীনত পঞ্জীয়ন কৰা হৈছে। সঞ্চালকালয়ৰ আবেদন অনুসৰি, 16 অক্টোবৰ, 2017 তাৰিখত 'গামোচা'ৰ বাবে প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ প্ৰদান কৰা হৈছে। প্ৰক্ৰিয়াটো ২০১৭ চনত আৰম্ভ কৰা হৈছিল যেতিয়া গোলাঘাট জিলাৰ হস্তশিল্প বিকাশ প্ৰতিষ্ঠানৰ দ্বাৰা জিআই টেগৰ বাবে আবেদন দাখিল কৰা হৈছিল।
