We passed three vessels flying day shapes that told us their intentions on a recent trip down the Intracoastal Waterway on Sweetest Thing, our Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1095. It was the perfect reminder of the basic day shapes, and navigation rules every boater should know.

Anode Replacement! On our newest video on YouTube, we dive into the world of anode replacement on our Jeanneau Merry Fisher / NC 1095, Sweetest Thing, focusing on both the trim tabs and the Sleipner bow thruster. We showcase the corroded anodes that prompted this maintenance task, emphasizing the importance of timely replacements.
You'll learn about the specific anodes needed for this job, including a 3 and 3/4 inch rudder anode with a through-bolt for the trim tabs and a specialty anode for the bow thruster. To make it easier for you, we've included affiliate links in the description for these anodes.

We recently found a leak in our freshwater system while conducing our regular boat check on our Jeanneau Merry Fisher / NC 1095 before an overnight trip (empty freshwater gauge and water in the normally dry bilge forward were the give aways). The stories from other owners had me search at the fresh water shower as the first potential leak point. And that was where it was.

📅 Keeping Track of Our Waterborne Escapades
One of the primary reasons we keep a log book is to document our nautical journey. In the past year, we’ve welcomed 33 friends on board our 1095, Sweetest Thing. It has been the perfect vessel for creating lasting memories.
⛵ 54 Days of Pure Bliss
Our log book tells us that we’ve had the privilege of setting sail on 54 different occasions. That’s 54 days of embracing the wind and waves, basking in the beauty of the open water, and enjoying the freedom only an express cruiser can offer.
🌌 29 Nights of Adventure
Away from our home dock for 29 nights, our Jeanneau 1095 has truly become a home away from home. These nights spent on board have brought joy to our year, making the most of our remarkable vessel.
🚀 144 Engine Hours and Counting
With 144 engine hours clocked in, we’ve covered some serious nautical miles. Our trusty Jeanneau has taken us on incredible journeys, leaving a trail of unforgettable moments in its wake.
🛠️ Maintenance and Care
Responsible boat ownership means taking care of our Jeanneau. We’ve scheduled two engine services and one generator maintenance session, (along with barnacle removal and zinc replacements) ensuring that our vessel continues to run smoothly on our future adventures.
💰 The Cost of Memories
As for the cost of our adventures, I avoided adding it all, but it fell like a lot. While some expenses may have been unexpected, every dollar spent is a reminder of the incredible experiences we’ve had.
In the end, our log book is not just a record of numbers and figures. It’s a touch stone of memories, from joyous moments shared with friends to the peaceful nights spent under the stars together. So here’s to Sweetest Thing, our trusty companion on this incredible journey. 🌟🚢🌅

We had Sweetest Thing out of the water for our latest 100 hours on the twin Yamaha 300 outboards. While in the yard, we removed the barnacles off the trim tabs, bow thrusters, engine mounts and some of the hull (the bottom paint has held up swimmingly). you can check out the the link to the new YouTube video of this scintillating process in the comments.
Sharing the water with friends always makes the day better. That golden hour is golden.
The reason we own a boat is to steal moments and share them with people. My daughter is home from college for Thanksgiving and we shared the North Florida sunset. Sunsets always soothe the soul, but sunsets shared with people you miss are another level.

Finished editing the Jeanneau DB/37 . Premiering at 12:00 pm on Thursday October 26 on YouTube (see the link in the comments). We love our Jeanneau NC 1095, but, are always dreaming of our next boat. The DB/37 is a beautifully designed premium day boat. The fit and finish is a step above several of the the other Jeanneau boats we have looked at. The Master Cabin sums up the upgrades, bigger bed, more storage, hanging lockers, individual reading lights, mirror, heavy duty hardware. The Sweetest Thing looks so big out of the water.
On the hard for 100 hour engine maintenance on the twin 300 Yamahas on our Jeanneau Merry Fisher / NC 1095.
Bottom paint had held up well, but need to clean up barnacle on the trim tabs and now thruster. And we are replacing anodes not tabs and bow thruster.
It has been 5 months since our last engine service. While our boating friends up north are winterizing, we are servicing the twin Yamaha 300s for the next 100 hours.

Wild horses running free on Cumberland Island. Our favorite day trip on Sweetest Thing, our Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1095, is to Cumberland Island for beach and the wild life. The wild horses can be seen frequently along the south end of Cumberland. Our Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1095 was out of the water a month for some maintenance. Weather and work travel kept me away for longer than the work took.On pick up, everything looked good on the boat check, but, when ready to leave the dock, our Port Yamaha 300 Outboard would not start. Looking at the amperage on the Yamaha engine control, it was at 11 amps, just a little low to get us started. Rather than wait for that to charge from the running starboard engine, we had the handy solution of our generator to get power going. I left the generator running until we were out of the marina, in case we needed the bow thruster and that battery was also low. Once started, it was a delightful 56 nm journey home. #boatmaintenance #jeanneau
