10 people killed, including a policeman, in a shooting in a Colorado supermarket, authorities say.

BOULDER, COLO. - A shooting in a Colorado supermarket killed 10 people Monday, including a policeman who was the first to intervene at the scene, authorities said.
Police arrested a suspect, but revealed neither his name nor any details about the shooting during an evening press conference where Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold held his tears.
Investigators had just begun sorting evidence and interviews with witnesses and had no details of the motive behind the shooting at King Soopers store in Boulder, located about 40 km northwest of Denver and which Home to the University of Colorado, Boulder County District said. The attack was the seventh mass murder this year in the US, after the March 16 shooting that left eight dead in three Atlanta area massage companies, according to a database compiled by The Associated Press , USA Today and Northeastern University.
It follows a mass murder lull during the 2020 pandemic, which recorded the smallest number of such attacks in over a decade, according to the database, following mass murders defined as four or more dead, not including the shooter.
The officer killed has been identified as 51-year-old Eric Talley, who has been part of the Boulder Police since 2010, Herold said. He went to the store after a call about gunshots and someone carrying a gun she said.
′′ He was obviously one of the outstanding officers of the Boulder Police Department, and his life was too short ", Dougherty said on Talley.
The identity of the other nine victims was not revealed Monday night, police still informing their family members.
Officers had escorted a shirtless man with blood flowing down his leg out of the store, handcuffed, but authorities would not say if he was the suspect. They said the suspect was receiving medical attention and was the only person injured not to die.
Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives investigators were at the scene of the crime, as well as FBI agents.
