It is precisely against this backdrop of unrelenting urbanization that a unique architectural project seeks to rekindle the nostalgia and tranquility of days gone by, all while harnessing the power of contemporary design.

Traditionally, boundaries have been viewed as unwavering dividers, demarcating the line between inside and outside, between one domain and another. Such rigid delineations seem only to be exacerbated by the confined and fragmented s**ces that define today's urban landscapes. Enter the "Quang Ngai House," a project that challenges conventional notions of boundaries, transforming them from mere partitions into instruments of connection and comfort for its inhabitants. Drawing upon the timeless appeal of bricks, a material that has withstood the test of generations, this dwelling employs bricks to craft courtyards and fences, evoking a sense of familiarity and gentleness. These fences, rather than serving as impenetrable barriers, gently rise to demarcate intimate corners of the occupants' lives.

The courtyard, conceived as an extension of the interior, forms a bridge between private life and the external world. Here, the harsh tropical sunlight undergoes a metamorphosis, casting softer, more nuanced hues upon the furniture within. Thanks to the courtyard, the house's microclimate is carefully modulated, offering comfort and reprieve, and fostering an intimate connection between nature and the passage of time. The skillful manipulation of light plays a pivotal role in this architectural narrative, with internal courtyards, skylights, and glass windows strategically placed to blur the lines between inside and out, heightening the perception of s**c

Chic Vid House, situated in Ho Chi Minh City's bustling Go Vap neighborhood, is a remarkable architectural feat. This five-story residence is perched on a narrow plot measuring 3.9 meters in width and 19.6 meters in depth, a challenge that demands a unique approach. The constrained frontage posed a design dilemma, making a striking façade seem improbable. However, this project aimed to optimize the precious urban real estate available.

What captures immediate attention is the house's elegance in its simplicity. The front features a teak shutter system that can be fully opened and closed, serving both as sun protection for the west-facing house and as a means to enhance natural ventilation. The use of laterite stone for the façade not only lends an aesthetic rustic charm but also has the practical function of regulating temperature, a valuable asset in Vietnam's tropical climate.

To maximize s**ce and avoid a cramped atmosphere, some common areas, such as the working and living rooms, have been strategically placed on higher levels. The fourth-floor living area, in particular, offers panoramic views of the surrounding neighborhood, promoting energy efficiency by reducing the need for artificial lighting and ventilation.

Recognizing the limited yard s**ce typical of urban living, the architects ingeniously transformed the rooftop into a garden oasis. Complete with a small dining table, it provides a unique escape for residents, offering an unforgettable rooftop BBQ experience with expansive city vistas.

The ground floor of Chic Vid House serves as a secure playground for children, ensuring their safety from the hazards of outdoor traffic. Meanwhile, the main kitchen and dining room share this level, allowing adults to supervise their children's playtime effortlessly.
