My friend Sarah Chaksad and I have the pleasure of directing Focusyear Basel, an immersion year for extraordinarily talented Jazz musicians at Jazzcampus Basel.
As you might know, during this one-year program we build a beautiful family with amazing musicians and people from all around the world. One of the members of this family is
Yakiv Tsvietinskyi, an incredible trumpet player and composer from Ukraine, who is now in Lviv helping people in shelters during these horrible and sad times. Our thoughts are with him and all Ukrainians who are fighting for their lives. We also admire those brave Russians, who protest against this war, fully knowing that they will be punished for speaking out.
We wish nothing more than a return to Peace.
