Basic Mathematics Tutorials:
Addition & subtraction of fractions (dissimilar)
1.) ⅓ + ⅖ = (5/5)(⅓) + (3/3)(⅖)
=( 5/15) + (6/15)
= 11/15 answer

2.) ¾ - ⅙ = (3/3)(¾)-(2/2)(⅙)
= (9/12)-(2/12)
= 7/12 answer

Logic: equal to one (1) fraction is used to change dissimilar fractions to similar ones for us to add or subtract.
Note: Only similar fractions could be added or subtracted.
Definition: equal to one fraction is a fraction whose numerator (upper part) and denominator (lower part) are the same or equal.
Similar fractions are fractions with equal denominators.
Dissimilar fractions are fractions with different denominators.
