Physiotherapist as an alternative to a GP for musculoskeletal conditions

Conclusion :- The results suggest that patients with musculoskeletal conditions may be assessed and managed independently and effectively by physiotherapists instead of GPs. This has the potential to significantly reduce workload
for GPs as the service requires minimal GP support.

Just came across this research article which shows that doing hands on knee as a recovery posture during intervals between any high intensity sports activity is a better option than placing hands on head( quite normal) . Centuries ago Islam also has already declared Rukooh during Salah as a recovery thing after Qayam. So science is just proving what Islam has declared. SubhanAllah 😇

Aquatic Therapy in OA - Total HIP replacement Surgery

Who are in need of Hip Replacement?
Pain associated with middle – aged and elderly patients, very commonly causes considerable limitation of motor fitness and dependence on pharmacotherapy.

A total of 92 patients suffering from hip Osteoarthritis (OA) were evaluated before and after total hip replacement (THR).
A positive effect of water exercises on a number of parameters was found in patients with OA both before and after total hip replacement surgery. We noted a significant reduction of pain, increased ranges of motion and muscle strength, and reduced use of medicines (NASAIDS).
The rehabilitation program including water exercises most significantly reduced pain in patients with OA before and after total hip replacement surgery. Inclusion of water exercises in a rehabilitation program can reduce the use of medicines in patient with OA and after THR.
Various forms of therapy are used in the rehabilitation of patients with hip OA, but new effective procedures are sought. Pharmacological therapy and frequent use of NASIDs currently predominate.
The aquatic environment has specific properties, in particular, mechanical and thermal properties, that exert a beneficial effect on the musculoskeletal system, which creates favorable conditions for conducting therapy.
Exercises in a rehabilitation pool at about 34°C-35°C can cause myorelaxation, increase the pain threshold, give a sense of greater protection against falls and injury, facilitate the re-education of gait.
The beneficial effects on the psyche of the patient are also very important. In this connection, an aquatic environment can play a significant role in rehabilitation of patients with degenerative – deforming lesions and after total hip replacement (THR) surgery.

Advices are good only when asked or actually needed but unasked advices specially the wrong ones or when someone don't value them, they become just annoying.. Avoid giving these advices.
1. Good things come to those who wait: Yes patience is good for it is surely be rewarded but sitting idle without making an effort is just like waiting for a miracle to happen.
2. Follow your heart: Heart is only there to pump your blood and thats all. Period. It's the brain which is made for making decisions and critical thinking, follow the latter.
3. Time heals all wounds: Well, sometimes time never heals the wounds that are so deep, they actually never heal . You just get something better or get busy in your life that you tend to forget them but they never heal completely you just get used to it.
4. If you work hard, you will achieve anything: Well hardwork surely pays off but I think it's the smart work that makes you achieve better things even earlier.
5. Everything happens for a reason: I don't think there's always a reason for everything, sometimes it's just a mere overthinking or misunderstanding that makes a coincidence reasonable.
6. Be yourself: Ofcourse don't forget who you are but there should always be a desire of being better version of you. When you improve yourself ,you become more valuable and respectable.

So now as all of us are being forced to stay at home, for the sake of our own lives, it now has changed my perception of happiness to some extent , as I have realized that happiness is not about impressing the people with your wealth or in bragging about your luxuries and giving all your time and energy to the people who actually don't care. Happiness is in little things, spending the time with your closest ones, taking care of your home, your family and ofcourse of yourself. Here is a list of some tasks you can do in this quarantine to keep yourself busy and motivated.
