"When you’re on stage it’s a bit more wild—in a sense it’s all about the connection you have with yourself and the audience. People clap to your blood, sweat and tears and that gives you real confidence." Meet Goldrain, a London-based music artist embracing a new creative direction: https://creativelondoners.com/2019/05/10/distilling-human-connection-through-performance/

How a thirst for adventure helped this music artist turn a lack of clarity of mind into a pursuit into a life that’s truly hers.

"I think you are an artist because you are born an artist. You are not made; you're born. You have the need. I‘m not sure why or how or if it’s genetic code. But you are an artist because you have the need to make art. You will make it regardless of whether you sell it or not. You just keep making it."

"When I look back at it, I realise: I didn’t yet understand the concept of consistency, and I’d never really grasped the idea that if you truly want something you’ve got to work your butt off to do it. It’s not going to come easily. You have to keep on going.”

Aesthetic Candy founder, Karine Jones, spoke to us about the true meaning of consistency. Read the interview on Creative Londoners.

"I’m definitely out of my comfort zone. Two years ago, I never would have done something like this – you know, sit for an interview and pose for photographs." "At first, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. People were giving me advice at the time, telling me I have to specialise in one thing. And I don’t give that advice to people now, especially to artists. As a young artist, you don’t really know what you want to do. It takes a while. At that age, it’s good to experiment and see what you’re best at."

Crissy Bogusz has been busy working as an artist in the Vogue Snapchat Design Team. But her latest side projects are charting new territory and creating new communities for causes of social justice. Read about how she approaches it all, and how she got to where she is, on Creative Londoners.

"Jay is more laid back than anyone I’ve ever met in my life, and I didn’t know how to take that at first. I mean, he’s practically always horizontal and in the calmest, most hippy-like state, where everything is fine and the world will always be OK."

"On the first day, we were asked what we were planning on writing our dissertations on. I hadn’t even finished my coffee and I had to come up with something off the top of my head. I thought: the only thing I know any real theory about is fashion. I’ve written a thesis for my undergraduate and I already have a postgraduate in creative entrepreneurship – it’s going to have to be that.

“I’m going to write a dissertation on why fashion is good for us”, I said.
