Breaking News: Yul Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor, has reportedly suffered the loss of his first son, Kambilichukwu Edochie, who fell unconscious while playing football and was rushed to the hospital.

According to an anonymous source who spoke to Vanguard News, Yul confirmed his son's death. Eyewitnesses reported that Kambilichukwu had spent the previous night studying for an exam and suffered a seizure while playing football with his friends after the exam.

Despite the best efforts of doctors at the Mother and Child Hospital, they were unable to revive him. The tragic incident occurred just two months after Yul and his first wife May celebrated Kambilichukwu's 16th birthday with blessings and praise.

Enugu Police Arrest Brothers For Alleged Killing Of Security Guard, Son

The Enugu State Police Command says it has arrested two brothers for allegedly killing a security guard and his 12-year-old son in an attempt to steal and sell their uncle's car.

The state Police Public Relations Officer DSP, Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ammani, deplored such cruel action of the suspects and vowed to prosecute the suspects after investigation. He, however, commiserated with the victims' family.

Ndukwe said that the suspects, identified as Chinedu Nnaona and Maduabuchi Nnaona, aged 25 and 21, respectively, who hail from Onuakpaka, Ndiagu-Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, were arrested on March 13, 2023, by operatives of the Uwani Police Division.

According to the statement, their arrest was sequel to an earlier report received at the Nkanu West Police Division on 12/03/2023 at about 11.30 am, alleging the murder of one Christian Ngene, who was a security guard and caretaker of the residential building of the suspects’ uncle Onuakpaka, Ndiagu-Akpugo and his 12 years old son, Promise Ngene.

The statement partly read, "Upon receipt of the report, Police Operatives of the Division swiftly moved to the scene, found and evacuated the lifeless bodies of the victims to the hospital, where they were confirmed dead by doctors and their remains deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

"Two knives, two hand gloves and broken pieces of a concrete baluster, used by the suspects to perfect the act, were recovered at the scene."

Fatal Liposuction Surgery: Hospital Denies Alleged Negligence, Probes For COVID

A Lagos-based medical facility, Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Clinics, has denied allegations of negligence, in an alleged fatal liposuction surgery that went wrong, leading to the death of Destiny, a 20-year-old lady, at the clinic.

News of Destiny's death went viral on social media, on Wednesday, after her friends reported that she died after being unable to breath properly, shortly after the surgery.

In a statement shared on its Instagram page on Thursday morning, the clinic dismissed “misinformation and wrong assumptions” about Destiny’s death, saying, a CT Pulmonary Angiogram was conducted on the deceased when she arrived at the intensive care unit ICU “and the result showed there was no pulmonary embolism.”

The statement read: “Good day everyone. On the March 14, 2023, we made a press release regarding the current issue making rounds on social media. We, once again, deeply commiserate with the family of the deceased.

“It has become necessary to clear the air on some misinformation and wrong assumptions. We are aware that it is reasonable to speculate that fat embolism was the most likely cause of her sudden onset of breathlessness. However, we wish to state the following:

“A CT Pulmonary Angiogram (CPA) was conducted the same day the client arrived at the ICU and the result showed there was NO PULMONARY EMBOLISM. BY the way, a CPA is the gold standard for diagnosing PULMONARY EMBOLISM (whether for fat, blood clot or air embolism).

“Till date, we have no records of pulmonary embolism of any kind, to the glory of God, despite the number of surgeries done so far. The deceased was the third client to ever be referred to an ICU with the previous two, being successfully managed at the same reputable ICU Hospital which is within 10 mins drive from our facility.

“Samples have been sent for COVID-19 testing on account of her recent travel history, as well as some features seen

Hamar people are a community inhabiting southwestern Ethiopia. They live in Hamer woreda a fertile part of the Omo River valley, in the Debub Omo Zone of the Southern Nations. They are largely pastoralists, so their culture places a high value on cattle.

Hamar tribe have unique culture and customs, one of them being a cattle-jumping ceremony where the beatings of the women by men take place to prepare them for marriage
The ceremony starts with all the female relatives performing a dance, during which they offer themselves as subjects to be whipped by men.
The beatings go on until their backs turn bloody. During the beatings, women are not allowed to scream. They do not also flee the ceremony but rather beg the men to beat them over and over again.

In the tradition known as Ukuli Bula, women are whipped as part of a Rite of Passage ceremony for boys, when female family members declare their love for the young man at the heart of the celebration. The boy is then allowed to marry since the ceremony makes him a man.

The women trumpet and sing, extolling the virtues of the Jumper, declaring their love for him and for their desire to be marked by the whip

THE OGUN STATE POLICE COMMAND HAS ARRESTED A 33-YEAR OLD SINGLE MOTHER FOR KILLING HER LANDLORD.

Men of Ogun state Police Command on Saturday 11th of March 2023, arrested a 33-year old woman, Ifeoma Ossai, for killing her 50-year old landlord, Monday Surulere Oladele, over a minor disagreement.

The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Sango Ota divisional headquarters by one Olaleye Taiwo, who reported that his brother, Monday Oladele has a disagreement with his tenant over the payment of electricity bill, and in the process, the said tenant grabbed the manhood of the deceased and dragged him with it.
Consequently, the landlord fell unconsciously on the ground and he was rushed to General Hospital, Ota where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.

Upon the report, the DPO Sango ota division, CSP Saleh Dahiru, quickly led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested and taken to custody for investigation.

On interrogation, the suspect claimed that the deceased asked her to pay for electricity bill, but she insisted that until water is directly connected to her apartment as promised by the landlord before she packed in she will not pay the electricity or any other utility bill.
This led to a scuffle between them consequence upon which the suspect grabbed the manhood of the deceased and dragged him with it.
The deceased subsequently slumped, and he was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead by doctor on duty.

The co**se has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

Wrongfully Convicted Man Freed After 34 Years In Jail

A man, Sidney Holmes, was released after serving more than 34 years of a 400-year prison sentence after the state of Florida reinvestigated the case and determined that he did not commit armed robbery.

According to abcNEWS on Tuesday, a thorough re-investigation of the 1988 armed robbery case that led to Holmes' conviction "raised reasonable doubts about his guilt," according to Broward County State Attorney Harold F. Pryor.

Pryor said that Holmes was arrested in October 1988 for allegedly being the driver for two unidentified men who robbed a man and woman outside a store at gunpoint. The car of the male victim was stolen by two unidentified men.

In April 1989, he was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 400 years in prison. At the time, prosecutors asked the judge to sentence him to 825 years in prison.

The Conviction Review Unit determined that there is no evidence linking Holmes to the robbery other than an incorrect identification of him and the vehicle used in the robbery.

OGUN POLICE ARREST THREE SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS

Operatives of Ogun state Police Command on the 13th of March 2023, arrested three members of a robbery syndicate who have been terrorizing Ewekoro and its environs for quite some time now.

The suspects, Ahmed Isiaha, Sunday Ajibola and Jimoh Wahab were arrested following a distress call received at Ewekoro divisional headquarters that a 4-man robbery gang have invaded Apomu Community in Ewekoro local government area of the state and dispossesing members of the community of their belongings.
Upon the distress call, the DPO Ewekoro division, CSP Jacob Olayemi, quickly mobilized his patrol team and moved to the scene.

On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels but they were hotly chased and with assistance from members of the community, three amongst the hoodlums were arrested.

Recovered from them are: one locally fabricated double barrel pistol, five live cartridges, one expended cartridge, one Bajaj motorcycle with registration number TTN 975 VU, one TVS motorcycle with registration number JBD 353 W and some Criminal charms.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation.
