A nice day for a hike!

Personnel from Maury County Office Of Emergency Management and Maury County Fire Department spent Sunday afternoon hiking to Stillhouse Falls, to preplan options for removing injured hikers from this beautiful but rugged area.

Don’t be deceived by the .7 mile posted distance to the falls. The terrain is steep, rocky, and the hike out is intense.

We recommend the following if you plan on enjoying this popular attraction:

1. Take plenty of drinking water
2. Wear sturdy footwear
3. Don’t hike alone
4. Stay on the marked trails
5. Watch the weather
6. Make sure that someone not on the hike knows your plans
