I've been sick all week and still not feeling up to going out to hear any of the wonderful music happening around my city.... so I'm gonna play a few of my favorite Irish and Scottish tunes (probably badly, definitely unrehearsed) here on Facebook in case you are also stuck at home today!

Today's fabulous music resource discovery from , who has been in Inverness, Scotland for several weeks: Highland Music Trust [https://www.highlandmusictrust.org/]
They have over 20 collections available for digital download, and have published several books.
Important questions from Erin: how many music books can I fit in my luggage?!? can I afford to buy them all?!? is it worth it to buy a new suitcase just to bring home more books?!? do I have room in my home office for all of the books I want to own?!? do I have time to learn ALL of the tunes?!?
Support your favorite musicians so we can afford to buy more music books ;)
What resources have you discovered recently?!?! We'd love to hear about them!

The Folk Music Educator Podcast, Hosted by Phil Kramer and Erin Mae Lewis is a Semi-regularly occurring podcast about the joys, challenges and perils of teaching Bluegrass, Old-time, and other forms of traditional folk music on the internet.

Phil and Erin met when they were kids learning to play music --- years later they re-connected as music teachers working online in the middle of a global pandemic. After several conversations about the lack of available resources for free-lance, online, folk music teachers, they decided to create some and the Folk Music Educator podcast was born.

Starting in January of 2022, Phil and Erin met weekly to discuss exactly how best to record, edit and publish a podcast while also handling the daily expectations of teaching online. Now after a year of beta testing different workflows and recording a total of 8 pilot episodes, they are excited to start sharing their experiences, thoughts and expertise in the world of online music education.
