First time getting dressed up in a long while! Iāve been working out dang near 6 weeks straight trying to lose my own COVID 25. š I didnāt think I could do it, but I squoze into the little red dress! Hard to get a good photo with the boys š«
Love my shirt by I had no idea that the DC flower is the rose š¹. I thought it was the cherry blossom. Check out at the National Harbor.
Look at Coco looking proper in her DC bred scarf we picked up today at I will be rockin my tee tomorrow!! Who knows the DC state flower? No Google surfing.
Parents are fundamental! Kudos to mom and dad. Letās talk about some Black girl Magic šŖ In 96 years!!! Since itās start in 1925, this year In 2021 Zaila becomes The First Black American to win the national spelling š. Put on the crown and letās applaud the Queen š!! āNational spelling champ isn't the only title to her name. Avant-garde holds three Guinness World Records for her basketball talents: the most bounce juggles in 1 minute with four basketballs, the most basketball bounces in 30 seconds with four basketballs, and ties the record for most basketballs dribbled at once ā 6 ā by one person.ā
Happy Fatherās Day to my love!
No words, just heartbreak...MaāKhia Bryant, 15 years old...murdered by those she called to protect her. Heavenly Father please comfort her mother, give her strength to fight for justice for her beautiful baby girl.
Isnāt he a handsome young man?
Black folk in America are endangered! Daunte Wright was 20 years old, out driving with his girlfriend in his new car. MN police pulled him over because he had an air freshener on his rearview mirror- moments later he was shot and killed.
He is dead, wrap your mind around that!!! Yet we saw throngs of angry white folk storm the US capitol, the Michigan state house, mass shooters (ALL doing illegal stuff!!!!!!) They ALL lived to see another day. Never a concern in their happy white lives. Yet parents of Black kids are filled with dread when our sons are out of our sites. Wrap your mind around that?! You canāt because it makes no sense yet it is the norm and has been the case since Black folk were brutally and forcefully enslaved and brought to this country.
In 1865 Frederick Douglass delivered a speech entitled āWhat the Black man wantsā Sadly, what they wanted then is still the same today...ā If you see him on his way to school, let him alone, donāt disturb him! If you see him going to the dinner table at a hotel, let him go! If you see him going to the ballot- box, let him alone, donāt disturb him! If you see him going into a work-shop, just let him alone!ā
His request: Do I have to eat my salad?
My response: Express to me clearly why you shouldnāt have to eat your salad and make sure you enunciate your words.
His Response: š¤¦š¾āāļø

Created for work! Christmas break doesnāt mean sitting around all day doing nothing. Not in the Montgomery household.
Merry Christmas!
Looking forward to participating in the conversation! This should be fun!
Amazing how much they grow in 3 years š«. My birthday surprise in Colorado. Out of the three, who do you think canāt keep a secret?
Since we know this to be true, because the evidence is clear. What do we āBlack peopleā do? What can we do? What are our options? Get education, donāt get education, move up, donāt move up, get a job, donāt get a job, follow the rules, donāt follow the rules, etc. I can go on. Nothing works for us. Whatās the solution?
The look of pain from a jellyfish sting! š®
Well look at this!!!! š Isaiah did his thing with this creation. We are so proud of him and thankful to for recognizing his talent.
Here we go!!!
Talk about having a āgrowth mindsetā. We went camping on Sunday at Assateague Island. Well.... the poles for the tent didnāt get packed š¤¦š¾āāļø š¤¬so guess where we slept?! In a hot car! š³ š¤The entire evening Jonathan has to turn the car on and off so that we could have air conditioning. This was just our second time camping. Outside of that, we enjoyed ourselves š
Thereās always something going on over here. This week?! the boys are building their own computers. They are doing this entirely by themselves. š¤¦š¾āāļøš¤·š¾āāļø

Back on Ep59 I spoke with and we talked about helping our kids connect their passion and purpose. I can honestly say that at 12 years old, Isaiah has discovered his passion. He works diligently at developing his skills. We donāt know yet how God intends to connect this passion with his purpose, but Iām honored to be a part of his journey as an encourager. Now on to this art. Isaiah was challenged to use a piece of African art as inspiration for designing his own African hero. The art he chose is a Nigerian Mask on display at the swipe to see his creation!
Silasā new hair color š². I tried š¤¦š¾āāļøSurprised us all but he likes it so Iām good! š
Tried something different with Danielās hair.
Jonathan and the boys made their own smoke bombs. I think they are more like fire bombs!

Movie night at the Montgomeyās, Hamilton!
About as good of a picture I could get. 14 years of fathering. I donāt think these boys know how lucky they are. I think the first Fatherās Day that I celebrated was 14 years ago. Happy Fatherās Day!!
Took the boys out to participate in the Freedom Day March.
Isaiah has really honed his digital artistry. This was a commissioned piece that he designed for a family friend. He struggled a bit drawing a womanās physique, but for the first time, I think he did pretty good.
