We are a student literary magazine for creative writing and artwork at the University of Delaware. We publish short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, graphic fiction, and artwork from UD's graduates and undergraduates. Submissions are selected and edited by an all-student staff. Email your submissions to [email protected]. All submissions must include:
Your full name
Your contact information
The titles of all your pieces
Indicate which category EACH PIECE belongs in

Our guest speaker will be Devin Harner
Professor, Journalist, Author and UD alum

Devin Harner, a journalist and associate professor at John Jay College/City University of New York, who earned his B.A. and his Ph.D. in English at the University of Delaware. Devin wrote for the Review as an undergraduate, and received the Academy of American Poets Prize and edited Caesura as a graduate student.

Professor Harner is currently the co-director of the journalism program at John Jay and teaches courses on a wide range of subjects from reporting to science fiction film to British literature. Harner has published scholarly articles on the films Adaptation, Donnie Darko, and Waltz With Bashir; and on Ciaran Carson and Chuck Palahniuk’s nonfiction writing.

His journalistic work has been published in the Chronicle of Higher Education and on PBS’s Mediashift.org.

Devin is currently working on two projects: The Myth Pit and the Mnemonic Landscape, a biographic study of American poets Philip Levine and Gary Snyder, and The News Hole: The False Promise and Bleak Poetics of Today’s Journalism.

We are excited to announce that Devin Harner, a UD alumni, will serve as the judge for this year's edition of Caesura. He earned both his MA and PhD at UD, concentrating on poetry in particular. He currently teaches courses on journalism, science fiction films, and literature at John Jay College and publishes articles on Mediashift. The submission deadline of November 26th is fast approaching for Caesura Literary Magazine!

We are seeking poems, short plays, fiction, creative nonfiction, and black and white images for publication in our upcoming edition. Diverse styles and subject matters are especially appreciated so whenever possible consider submitting more than one piece. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best submissions.
