Malami Acting Like ‘Senior Advocate Of Bandits' - Odinkalu

Chidi Odinkalu, a former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has criticised Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, ‘for choosing some separatism as tolerable’.

Odinkalu says he finds it “troubling” that Malami (SAN) is “acting as the Senior Advocate of bandits, rather than the Senior Advocate of Nigeria”.

He argued that bandits and killer herdsmen ought to have been officially declared terrorists by Nigerian authorities — if truly they are impartial.

“There isn’t one separatism in Nigeria. There are separatisms,” Odinkalu, a professor, said while sharing his thoughts on separatist agitations in Nigeria via Arise TV recently.

“President Buhari, sadly, aided and abetted by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has chosen some separatism as tolerable. If you remember, Boko Haram declared a caliphate. That’s separatism. The bandits are not exactly seeking to accept the unity of Nigeria.

“So you’ve got the attorney general of the Federation acting as the Senior Advocate of bandits, rather than the Senior Advocate of Nigeria. That is troubling.”

BREAKING: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's N5Billion Lawsuit Against Buhari Government Finally Given Hearing Date

Aloy Ejimakor, a special counsel for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has said the N5 billion lawsuit filed against the Nigerian government asking freedom for his client on health grounds in Abia State has been assigned to a Chief Judge.

He also stated that case is slated for 2nd November, adding that his desire was to wrap up the matter within one month.

"Therefore, I will be strongly disinclined to any further delays coming from the Nigerian government and the other respondents."

The Muhammadu Buhari-led government through the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) had pleaded with the Abia State High Court to give it and other six respondents an extension of time to defend the lawsuit filed by Ejimakor on behalf of Kanu.

Sad News: Church collapsed in taraba state, killed two worshippers.

Holy Ghost Church in Abeda Pave Community, Chachanji Ward in Takum Local Council in Taraba state collapsed during an ongoing church service on Saturday, September 11.

According to reports, the building collapsed following a heavy downpour that lasted several hours.
The two victims were male and female while several other members of the church sustained varying degree of injuries.

Anti-open Grazing: Give Us Time To Train Our Members - Miyetti Allah Begs Lagos

The south-west chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) says it needs time to train its members on how to stop the practice of open grazing.

Maikudi Usman, zonal secretary of south-west MACBAN, made the plea on Wednesday at the public hearing of the Lagos state anti-open grazing bill.

He said the members of the association need time to be educated on “how they will be breeding cattle in one place and not transfer to anybody’s land”.

“Our breeders are not used to breeding cattle in one place. They move from here to another place. When we say we’ll keep cattle in one place, the owner of the cattle will not have funds to feed the animals in one place,” Usman said.

“They’ve already depended on going from one place to another. Because in the rainy season time, we have where we settle down, and we also have for the dry season.

“We are pleading with Lagos state government to give us time to go tell our people and train them how they will be breeding cattle in one place and not transfer to anybody’s land.

“But breeding in one place, right now, our people do not have the power to do so. What you’re not used to, you have to be taught. And gradually, everybody will understand.”

Hundreds of bank customers were left stranded on Tuesday as the officials of the Imo State Government shut all the banks on Bank Road in Owerri, the state capital, IgbereTV has learned.

Our correspondent who visited the area around 9am saw hundreds of banks customers waiting at various banks.

Some of the banks that were sealed by the state government were Access, Polaris, First Bank, Eco Bank, and United Bank for Africa.

Our correspondent saw customised ribbons the state government officials used in sealing the various banks as early as 7 am.

Some of the staff of the banks told our correspondent that the operatives of Owerri Capital Development Authority sealed the banks.

The PUNCH gathered that the banks sealed were those that failed to open on Monday, a day states in South East sit-at-home in protest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra who is being tried at the Federal High court in Abuja by the Federal Government.

However, some government officials said that the banks were sealed because of building approval plans.

Both the state commissioner for Information and strategy, Declan Emelumba, and the General Manager of OCDA Innocent Ikapmezie, did not respond to multiple calls put to their telephones by our correspondent.

They had neither return the calls nor reply to text messages as of the time of filing this report.

Miyetti Allah Slams Akeredolu Over Signing Of Anti-open Grazing Law

The signing of the Anti-open grazing law by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has been rejected by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

Recall that the governor had on Tuesday signed the anti-open grazing bill into law to prohibit the open grazing of cattle in the state and to curb insecurity in the state.

Akeredolu said he assented to the bill in line with the resolution of the Southern Governors’ Forum at its last meeting in Lagos where the governors set September 1st as the deadline for signing of the Anti-Open Grazing Bill into law.

But in an interview on Thursday on Arise News, MACBAN Secretary-General, Usman Baba-Ngelzerma, accused the Ondo State House of Assembly of not following due processes in making the anti-open grazing law.

He stated that none of the MACBAN members was invited for a public hearing and to make inputs to the law before it was signed by the governor.

“In most of the states, none of our members has been invited for a public hearing and makes inputs to the law and this law is done to affect us 100%, to affect our members 100%. We are part of the critical stakeholders that are supposed to be invited to hear our views and protect our positions and that of the government of the states where we exist.

“So, we will wait and see how this law is going to be implemented but I will like to draw the attention of Ondo to Benue where a law has been put in place. Go and appraise the Benue law, has it succeeded in bringing peace to Benue? It has never succeeded in bringing peace to Benue. Rather, it has further aggravated the situation to become worse, day in day out.

“Laws are supposed to bring harmony and understanding in a community.”

Nigerians Will Feel The Impact Of My Projects When I Leave Office In 2023 - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that Nigerians would feel the impact of his projects when he leaves office in 2023.

Buhari disclosed this at the inauguration of the new board of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, NSIA, at State House, Abuja.

He said his administration is partnering with NSIA on some infrastructural projects across the country.

There’s no place in Nigeria we have not impacted positively – Buhari

Buhari also reiterated the commitment of his administration towards towards establishing long term projects that would create jobs for Nigerians.

According to Buhari, “Accordingly, in the past four years, both the public and private sectors in Nigeria have partnered on strategic projects with the NSIA.

“On the public sector partnership, we are working with the NSIA on strategic infrastructure projects such as the Second Niger Bridge, the Lagos – Ibadan Express Way and the Abuja – Kano Road, to mention a few.

“On the private sector collaborations, we have projects such as the Presidential Fertiliser Initiative, the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative and the NSIA Healthcare Development and Investment Company amongst many.

“Although these projects and programmes have immediately created jobs from a development standpoint, the wider impact on society will only be felt in years to come.”

Attack on Living Faith Church: Fulani herdsmen are sponsored – Oyedepo fumes, warns presidency

Bishop David Oyedepo, President and Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has claimed that the Fulani herdsmen are being sponsored to unleashed mayhem on unsuspecting citizens of the country.

DAILY POST recalls that unknown gunmen had during the weekend attacked a branch of his church in Kogi State and abducted at least three worshippers.

It was gathered that the kidnapers stormed the church’s premises at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of the state when some of its members were rehearsing.

According to reports, the assailants were shooting sporadically before whisking the victims to unknown destination.

Reacting, in a video making the rounds on social media, Oyedepo declared that “any gang up against this church crashes within one hour”.

He said, “Fulani herdsmen have become a menace, they are sponsored. I know it. There are things you think in your room that the Lord shows to his prophet.

“I saw this government coming in with a bloodthirsty god and I cried. The worst time in the history of Nigeria is 2015 till now. And it is worsening day by day, the end has finally come.

“Apart from us in the Jesus family, many have never had a smile in the last five years on our street. We don’t have record so we don’t know how many people have committed su***de.

“If they dash me presidency I won’t take it. I knew that since 1984 not now. It is a very great office but not my calling, however, in this my calling, don’t come near. Any gang up against this church crashes within one hour”.

2023: No elections in Southwest, Oduduwa Republic will happen – Sunday Igboho

Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly know as Igboho, has said elections would not hold across the Southwest in 2023.

Igboho said elections would not hold because Yorubas will break out of Nigeria.

He spoke in a video anchored by his spokesman, Oluyomi Koiki.

Speaking in Yoruba, Igboho said: “Marriage is not by force. We can’t live with you again. The Yoruba nation is a vehicle of salvation and I want all Yoruba to board the vehicle and have their seats.

He also vowed that there is no going back on the agitation struggle.

“How can we go back when we are almost at our destination? Those who have not joined us should do so now because there’s no election come 2023. Yoruba will go,” he said.

Lately, Igboho has been agitating for Oduduwa Republic following the attacks on the Southwest by armed herders.

A former Commissioner for Information in Adamawa State, Ahmad Sajoh, has opposed agitations for the breakup of Nigeria.

Sajoh described the agitations as forceful and treasonable with the style of struggle.

He further advised those calling for secession to channel their energy to making Nigeria a better country.

Sajoh said separation is not the solution to the nation's challenges, urging citizens to join hands to fix the current challenges.

NAN quoted him as saying, “We must appreciate God’s purpose in putting us together. Nigeria is better together."

Sajoh observed belief in certain quarters that the only way to assume power is agitation.

According to him, it worked for the South-West in 1999, the South-South in 2011, and the North in 2015.

“There has been this pattern and it’s nothing new. However, what is happening today is a culmination of our slide towards anarchy.

“The agitations are not just forceful but somehow treasonable in some cases

Buhari remains my president, I pray for him every day – Ortom

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has revealed that he has no grudges against President Muhammadu Buhari amid face-off with the presidency over herdsmen attacks.

DAILY POST recalls that the governor and the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to President Buhari had hitherto engaged in war of words over alleged inability of Buhari to tackle insecurity in the State.

However, in a media briefing to mark this year’s Democracy Day and his mid term as re-elected Governor, Ortom said he remembers the president in his daily devotion.

Ortom, who recalls how the people of the state organized prayers for the president when he was having a health crisis, said he has no reason to hate anyone.

He, however, admitted that they both have some disagreement over policies not favorable to the people of the state.

“I am a Christian; born again for that matter. And I have no reason to hate anyone. The president is my president.

“I pray for the president every day in my devotion. When the president was sick, Benue state was the first state that organised prayers for him under my watch.

God told me TB Joshua is in hellfire, Nnamdi Kanu may die soon – Pastor Peters

The Senior pastor of Divine Mercy Church, Olatobiloba Peters has unveiled some revelations which he claimed God gave him about the late Nigerian televangelist, Temitope Balogun, also known as TB Joshua and Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Pastor Peters disclosed that God revealed to him that TB Joshua was not in heaven.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the clergyman stated that the powers of the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, was not from God.

TB Joshua had died a few days ago after conducting a service in his church.

He was found unconscious in his private apartment while the service was ongoing in Lagos.

This is coming at a time the Senior Pastor of Christian Life Church, Jackson Senyonga had described TB Joshua as the “biggest witch in Africa.”

On his part, Pastor Peters said: “God showed me in a revelation of the night that Temitope Joshua did not make it to heaven. In that revelation, I saw that he could not make it because the powers he was using was not from God, this is what was revealed to me.

“TB Joshua was, however, a good man and one of the greatest philanthropists of our time but the things of the spirit are different from how many see things.

“It’s not about being a philanthropist, but is God really involved? Is God happy with what he was doing? God is not his source of power and this should be a lesson to humanity.”

The pastor also disclosed that Nnamdi Kanu may not see the end of the year.

“I see Nnamdi Kanu vacating this earth and another taking his place as a result of his demise.

“Mark my word, Kanu will not be the one to actualise Biafra; we will not live long to see it happen.

“Tell Kanu to amend and make his ways right with God because I see him exiting this earth soon,” he said.
