We’re proud to support BUG, an upcoming short film by 2025 WAVE Grant recipient .mmoney.

A woman attending her long-awaited green card interview discovers there’s an unexpected final step. A twisted, dark comedy for anyone who has experienced the comically unending labyrinth that is the US immigration system (or cares about people who do!).

MEMORIES OF LOVE RETURNED will have its NYC premiere at the on May 10th.

Named one of the Ten Best African Documentaries of 2024, MEMORIES OF LOVE RETURNED follows director Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine () on a 22-year journey sparked by a chance encounter with a Ugandan photographer and a treasure trove of forgotten portraits.

Lauryn Darden and Ragan Henderson are our final WAVE Grant recipients for 2025. They are NYU Tisch grads and filmmakers dedicated to amplifying overlooked voices. Lauryn’s work centers older Black individuals, with her award-winning feature screenplay The Later Years recognized by the National Black Film Festival. Ragan, a director and image maker, aims to humanize those marginalized by society—her work has been featured at the MET Museum and in Vogue and Rolling Stone. Together, they co-directed When They’re Gone, a short film about two elderly men who form an unexpected bond over grief and love after a chance encounter at a graveyard.

Ana Chavez is our next WAVE Grant recipient. She is an LA-based filmmaker and video artist whose work blends identity, sexuality, and memory through a hybrid filmmaking style. A UC Santa Barbara Film alum, she won Best Screenplay at the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s 10-10-10 Program for her short script Her and I—and her latest short, Blush, captures the lives of teen girls growing up in Singapore.
