Hi 👋🏻 It’s me, the girl who got super burnt out trying to juggle her two businesses as well as being Mum, doing life AND sharing content to promote said businesses! It’s safe to say it didn’t quite go to plan…

I’m the type of person that will go all in on something for a while (call it hyper fixation if you like) and then switch and go all in on another. This is exactly what I’ve been doing with my social media. I could post 6 times a week for this account and neglect my other one completely then the next month or so I’d do the same over there and then neglect this account…not ideal when you’re wanting to be consistent right? 🤦🏼‍♀️

I recently thought, well if I can post 6 times a week, what if I just split that between the two accounts? So I’m still consistently posting each week just less than before. So, after a little break that’s the plan! Wish me luck 🍀

We’re in a new month so I thought I’d share my goals for June…I’d love to hear what you have planned for this month. Let me know in the comments ⬇️

10 ways to handle social media anxiety:

1. Follow people who inspire you
2. Take time for self care

4. Analyse what similar businesses are sharing to gain inspiration
5. Set limits with your screen time
6. Batch film video content
7. Mute/unfollow people that make you feel uncomfortable
8. Take a break when needed
9. Prepare content in advance
10. Turn off notifications

5 things to STOP doing ✋🏻

1. Using a boring CTA in your caption ‘link in bio’
2. Not showing your face
3. Only sharing photos of your products
4. Not responding to any comments on your posts
5. Posting and ghosting

Are you guilty of any of these? I know I’ve been guilty of most of them at some point… but we learn and we grow 🙌🏻

Comment a 👀 if you’re guilty of any of these. I won’t tell anyone if you don’t 😉🤐

Start doing what’s right for you…and don’t feel bad about it! 🙌🏻

As we grow, our interests, passions and priorities naturally evolve. And it’s perfectly ok to pivot.

Whether in business or our personal life, it’s important to listen to our gut and recognise when it’s time to move in a different direction.

It’s perfectly ok to not enjoy something you used to love. Life is too short to stick with something that no longer resonates with us. So don’t be afraid to embrace change and live a life you truly love 🙌🏻

Double tap if you agree 💖

Running a small business can be hard! Here are some valuable lessons I’ve learnt so far…

1. Making changes is ok- It’s all too easy to think once you’ve set up your business then that’s it set in stone. But we as people grow and change so why can’t our business evolve too? If you have a product you no longer enjoy making, a service that now makes you anxious about booking in or a colour in your branding that you don’t like anymore…get rid of them! This is YOUR business and it’s ok to adapt it to suit you.

2. Don’t compare yourself to anyone- Ooh this one is especially tricky. When we see so much online, it’s far too easy to think that people have all their sh*t together while you’re still figuring it all out. You cannot compare yourself when your situations are completely different. Maybe you’re a Mum and they’re single and free as a bird. Maybe you work a day job but they have all the time to work on their biz. Or maybe it’s even that you’ve just started and they’ve been going for 6 years. We’re all on a different journey. Plus, remember most of us definitely don’t have all our sh*t together 😉

3. Don’t be afraid to say “No”- Just like getting rid of services that no longer serve you…don’t be afraid to say no! It’s far too easy to want to say yes to everything, especially if you’re still new. You want that customer right? But it can be a slippy slope into saying yes to everything…set clear boundaries as early on as possible.

4. Find a community- Small business friends aren’t like ‘normal’ friends. They get it! When things are going well they can cheer you on, when things aren’t going well they can sympathise and urge you to keep on going. Having a community is an absolute game changer. Whether you join a paid for membership, a local networking group or you utilise a Facebook group, there are lots of ways you can be a part of a community and get the support you need.

5. You’re allowed to take a break- My small business brain really struggles to turn off and I’m constantly thinking about it at all hours of the day (and night). But setting some time aside to not do any work is so important. Whether it’s a couple of hours or a week, take the break!

How do I consistently come up with content ideas? 💡

Steal my strategy:

1. Understand your audience- People don’t buy things, they buy feelings. So make sure you’re doing your research into what your ideal client/customers pain points are. How can you help them?

2. Competitor analysis- Don’t directly copy what your competitors are doing but there’s no harm in taking inspiration. It can help you to see things from a different perspective.

3. Idea bank- Have a dedicated space to keep all of your ideas and don’t forget to take note when inspiration strikes as you may well forget about it if you’re anything like me!

4. Content vault- Create an album on your phone packed full of photos and videos. Batch create b-roll videos so that they’re ready when you need them. It will make the process much quicker and easier!

5. Repurpose content- Don’t be scared to repurpose your content! There are several ways this can be done. You can use one BIG piece of content (ie a blog/vlog) then turn that into lots of smaller pieces of content, such as a reel, a carousel, some static posts and some stories. (Not forgetting emails too!) You can also repurpose content within Instagram itself. If you had a reel that performed particularly well, take the information from that and turn it into a carousel!

6. Make a plan- It is SO important to plan. If you’re anything like me, if you don’t have a plan you get confused about what to post and then you end up not posting anything. Or you put out any old thing and it doesn’t do very well. Sound familiar? Set aside time regularly to research ideas and map out your content strategy. It doesn’t really matter how often you do it but it’s just important that you do! Being consistent with the planning helps be consistent with the posting! 🙌🏻

Small Biz Shoutout 📣

This year I decided I wanted to share small businesses in a different way, so each month I am going to make a purchase and then give them a shoutout on here. It might only be a tiny purchase but tiny orders add up when you’re a small business right? 🫶🏻

My March shout out is for my lovely friend and talented artist Hayley from

I joined in with one of Hayley's paintalong sessions and I had such a fab time! I can't wait for the next one! If you're local to the Oxfordshire area I highly recommend checking out what she has to offer.

Makes sure you check out her page and tag a small business you think I should check out for next month 🛒
