Representation Matters. Today Black & Brown girls see themselves and for some of us are reminded ... for others of us-finally believe .... that great heights are attainable.
There will be girls that look like us born into a world with a Black President in the history books and a Black sitting VP. Real s**t, that's so beautiful. I remember all those president place mats, book covers, folders, pencil cases, classroom charts, etc. I remember being inundated with images of no one that looked like me.
Biden/Harris have made some incredible appointments/hires that will showcase Black Women and Women in general in leadership roles that will hopefully shape the aspirations of an innumerable amount of young women for years to come.
Grateful for our firsts ... Prepared to make sure it isn't our last.
To see an extraordinary Black Woman is one thing... to see an extraordinary Black Woman as your Vice President is something entirely apart! (🎩 Yall knew I was gonna work in a Bridgerton line).
Congrats Madam Vice President. Make us proud, because this is a new day of civic awareness and we finna be on ya ass sis 🤣... but you got this!!!!!
