MESSAGE TO OUR FELLOW ALUMNI, FRIENDS, and SUPPORTERS:
As excitement builds leading up to the 2024 Alumni Round-up Events, we would like to express our appreciation to everyone for their support and participation. Let all pledge to do our part to ensure the events planned are safe and enjoyable to all involved. The Alumni Association and its Executive Board has worked hard for the last several months to ensure the events are an enjoyable experience.
All events hosted, organized, or put on by the DHS Alumni Association are FUNDRAISERS to support our school and students. It is always the vision and mission of the Alumni Association to “party with a purpose.” That purpose is to raise funds to support our school and students! Remember, it’s a FUNDRAISER, to raise money for scholarships and school projects.
In our effort to be transparent, we would like to clear up some misinformation and dismiss rumors that have surfaced - the Alumni Round-Up event (OCTOBER 4, 2024) will proceed as planned in previous years:
1. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION DUES: To become a member of the DHS Alumni Association, we ask everyone to pay a yearly $40.00 membership fee. In exchange, a paid member receives a couple of token of appreciation items such as a t-shirt, cup, etc. As a paid member you get to play a part of the decision-making process, serve on committees, vote on ideas/projects, etc. This fee is used to help pay the organization’s yearly costs needed to operate.

2. 2024 ROUND-UP/TAILGATING OPERATIONAL FEES: Each year we ask each class to pay $150.00 operational fee to cover the cost associated with this event AND raise money. If classes combine, you must pay the 150.00 fee plus 50.00 for each additional class. This is a VERY large event with a VERY large crowd. For this event, the Alumni Association is required to pay/purchase liability insurance for the event, security costs, portable restroom rentals, pavilion rental, dumpster rentals, signage costs, etc. (just to name a few items.) Bottom line: As of last year we had over 46 classes participating. Obviously, space may become an issue at some point. So you may want to quickly register your class. To keep your previous class spot, the operational fee must be paid by September 13, 2024; after that date unpaid spots will be re-assigned. 3. 2024 SNEAKER BALL: This event will take place on OCTOBER 5, 2024. The venue will be announced at a later date. Tickets will go on sale no later than AUGUST 1, 2024. Tickets will be sold on the same online platform as last year. Ticket prices for tables or individual tickets will be announced at a later date. Dress code and security will be strictly enforced.
