As the event obviously didn’t take place when it was supposed to and we’ve heard nothing so far about a reschedule of the tour; we’re going to be automatically refunding everyone who bought pre-sale tickets, starting Monday when Eventbrite has processed those sales to us.

Danger Close Records Track Review #1:
DXWNSIDES
Pointless
2019
Maturing Ex-pop punk fanatics and heartbroken casey fans can rejoice as birmingham outfit DXWNSIDES offer up fresh tunes for you to listen and love.
Birmingham Melodic Hardcore 5 piece DXWNSIDES have had a very quiet 2019 off the back of their well received 2018 single "Bleed". Well known & loved within the Birmingham scene, DXWNSIDES have opted to keep their live performances sparse and instead focus on crafting a true labour of love. November 29th 2019 gives us our first peak into this project with the dual release of two singles "Iridescence" & "Pointless". This review will focus in the longer of the 2, "Pointless", and this track is nothing short of a gem to bring 2019 to an emotional and reverb soaked close.
The track focuses lyrically on a failed relationship & heartbreak, but highlights the realistic & ugly side of the emotional and physical fallout of a messy and hate fueled break up. Topics of depression, isolation and self medication through substance abuse are present in force within the track. Juxtaposing these dark topics is lead singer Chris' passionate, and in parts explosive, vocal delivery throughout the track which are tastefully drenched in this almost ethereal reverb which adds depth and volume to the vocals whilst maintaining the intimate feeling whilst listening to Chris address topics quite close to him.
Backing up these vocals is a stellar performance from Guitarists Ben & Luke, with both guitars working in tandem to provide a floaty & shimmering melody whilst maintaining a driving & aggresive rhythm to the track. A similar comparison would be a combination of the tone & performance of the guitars from Title Fights 2009 "The last thing you forget" album and their 2015 album "Hyperview", an impressive feat when you consider the contrasting tones of those albums.
Bass is provided to use in droves by Zac's Strong and Imposing bass tone & performance which is able to switch from a supporting element to the guitars in the chorus & verses to the forefront in fills and transitions in such force that it truely adds a new dimention & weight to the track.
Last but not least, Newest DXWNSIDES member Ollie provides us with a skillfull yet driving Drum track throughout with a similar intent to Zacs Bass track, as a supporting element to the vocals & guitars at the forefront during chorus & verses which is able to blister forward in intensity to add flair & taste to the track without losing that driving beat that gives the track its passionate tempo.
All of these elements are tied together beautifily under Chris' & Bens mix & master, showing us that DXWNSIDES are absolutely back and that the 2020 is nothing more than a treasure trove of opportunity for the quintet. With the project completion looming in the near future, This is one to keep tabs on for the next gem to be offered up.
