The Model of the Year contest was set up by Kerri Parker in 2008, to offer new and existing models the chance to make a name for themselves in the modelling industry. The contest continues to get bigger and better every single year, the 2010 and 2011 competition saw our winners flying off to Egypt to shoot calendars on the Red Sea Riviera, and our 2012 competition offers something even better - a
trip to Hollywood for our winner in a prize package worth over £5000! The competition is open to new and existing models regardless of experience - Samantha Crossman our 2011 adult winner had never done a shoot or competition before she entered Model of the Year! One of her first shoots was an exclusive calendar shoot in Egypt as part of her prize package! The aim of the competition is not only to help new models get started out in the industry, and offer them the publicity and exposure to make a name for themselves, but also to help further existing models careers as well. The Model of the Year contest offers new and existing models a taste of the limelight and helps to improve their confidence, as well as offering some amazing prizes and opportunities for our winners and all of our finalists. Kerri has spent the last nine years in the pageant industry - from winning regional, national and even international titles! Over the last 6 months alone Kerri has won several UK and international beauty pageant titles including Miss World Dreams UK and The World Supermodel - England pageant. Kerri has also judged numerous heats for the Miss England and Miss Great Britain pageants, and ran several heats for Miss Great Britain as well - including Miss Norfolk which was seen on Channel 4. Kerri has done a lot of work with the BBC over the last couple of years to raise awareness of the scams the pageant industry faces - and whilst there are long running established pageants - there are also many pageants springing up every day to con girls out of money, and which are a complete waste of time. Kerri's work on this campaign to raise awareness of pageant scams has included live on air interviews with the BBC talking about the pageant industry, news features, and a feature on the BBC England homepage which was seen by millions of people around the UK. The BBC continues to publicise the work Kerri does with the launch of her new Little Miss competition which attracted a massive amount of media coverage in the UK. The Model of the Year competition features one of the lowest sponsorship fee's in the pageant industry, but offers the finalists and winners one of the highest prize jackpots with thousands of pounds worth of prizes, on top of the publicity they also receive with us. Every finalist also receives a variety of prizes, and appears in the official Model of the Year calendar as well, with portfolio images to keep as well - so no one goes away empty handed! The Model of the Year competition is something unlike every other pageant in the UK, in how the finalists support each other and become friends for life. We hold events and evenings out in the run up to the competition, and set up finalist only Facebook groups for the girls to chat and get to know each other, so no one is a stranger when it comes to the big day! The levels of support we witness, even after the competition, are something which we have never seen in any other UK pageant or competition. The competition now features divisions for babies right through to adults, so girls of all ages can enjoy The Model of the Year competition and all it has to offer.
