Boy howdy, is State Records excited to announce these forthcoming 7" vinyl KILLERS!!!

Top label Just Add Water Records have been offering "proper music for questionable people" for close to 30 years, and these new beasties are no exception—2 MONSTROUS slabs of mid 60s British Beat!!

#1 THE BOYS BLUE You Got What I Want
Originally issued in May '65, The Boys Blue delivered 2 fantastic Miki Dallon-penned sides, later covered by Coventry's finest, The Sorrows! For me, these are a little more raw and ballsy than the Sorrows' remakes, excellent as they are. Gritty production and rasping sax on both combine for a gloriously dirty sound! First EVER 7" reissue!!

#2 THE A-JAES I'm Leaving You
Recorded in May '64 at the hallowed RG Jones Studio in Morden, Surrey, and released not long after in a tiny "99-copies-to-avoid-tax" pressing on the equally revered Oak label, the A-Jaes (featuring future Jook and Sparks man, Trevor White) offered a killer slice of R&B-based beat, with some super-cool harmonies thrown in. This grail of a 45 has gone on to be a major collector's item—unlikely you'll see change out of £500, if you can even find a copy! This represents its ONLY 7" reissue, and if that wasn't enough, JAW have added in 2 PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED acetate tracks, taken from the group's follow-up '65 sesh at RGJ!!

Both are pretty limited—just 300 of the Boys Blue, and 400 of the A-Jaes. It's JUST possible we might even be able to get the super-limited split black & white vinyl copies of the A-Jaes (there's only 100 of those!), but I'm gonna wait for the box to arrive to confirm.

These 2 cuts are taken from their super-rare 2nd EP, originally released in late '69. We get a fantastically primitive run-through of the BLUES MAGOOS' "Gotta Get Away" ("Busco Un Camino") alongside a killer organ-driven original ("No, No Puede Ser")! Check out the clips below.

2 DYNAMITE new 7" vinyl EPs from French 60s beat legends THE BOOTS, STONE and ERIC CHARDEN!!

The Boots get a straight reissue of their 2nd EP, originally released on Polydor in 1966, while Stone and Charden get a side each, with tracks taken from their "Amour Limite Zéro" (Decca, '65) and "Le Jour La Nuit" (Polydor, '66) EPs respectively (all 4 tracks written by EC).

Both releases are expertly mastered from audio supplied by Universal, and are beautifully packaged in fully-laminated flipback card sleeves with card obi strips, 4-page booklets and postcards. Limited to just 400 copies, these will not be around long!

Legendary 70s French punk/new wave band STINKY TOYS issued just one 45 and 2 LPs in their brief lifespan. The 3 tracks contained herein were recorded in 1978, primarily as demos for their 2nd LP, issued in 1979. 2 of the tracks eventually made it, but the third—a scintillating cover of The Who's "I Can't Reach You"—remained unissued until Pop Supérette made their 1st version of this EP last year. This new "international" edition of just 400 copies features slightly altered artwork, a booklet in English plus bonus postcard and embroidered patch (!), the whole package gorgeously wrapped in a fully-laminated flipback card sleeve with obi strip!!

William Penn Fyve aka William Penn & His Pals were a regular presence on the early Bay Area scene, opening for the likes of Jefferson Airplane, Paul Revere & the Raiders and Them—their full story is told in the new issue of Ugly Things Magazine, which we also have for sale. Their line-up included lead singer / organist Gregg Rolie, later of Santana / Journey. In 1966 they recorded their lone single, “Swami” / “Blow My Mind”, for the Thunderbird label. The A-side (written by guitarist Mike Shapiro and famous for being included on Pebbles Vol 3: The Acid Gallery) is early acid-punk with fuzzed-out raga guitars and hilarious lyrics about a guru. The flipside is an energetic garage-punk number with swirling Vox organ and a fuzz rave-up á la Yardbirds.

This is the FIRST officially band-sanctioned 7" release in more than 50 years, and benefits from an excellent transfer courtesy of Mr Boss Hoss himself, Mark Taylor, and a fantastic laquer cut from SST. Only 500 copies pressed!!

Based in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, Thee Kavaliers issued 4 singles on the now-legendary Pharaoh label (home to the Headstones, Playboys Of Edinburg, Christopher & The Souls and more) between October '65 and January '67, and were part of a thriving local scene. Sadly, no Pharaoh 45 was commercially successful, and having vanished into the ether alongside thousands of other US garage 45s from the same period, their work was eventually rediscovered in the late 70s/early 80s. Subsequently, these Pharaoh 45s are HIGHLY sought after these days, with good condition copies changing hands on the collector's market for up to $2000 in some cases!!

Thankfully, Hyperloop have once again come to the rescue by combining the A-sides of the first and last Kavaliers 45s, possibly creating their strongest 2-sider to date! "Congregation" features some super-gnarly fuzz, gritty organ and a near-hysterical vocal that rattles along at quite a pace, while "Pride" is a more laid back, introspective jangler with lush vocal harmonies.

Once again, we are experiencing a trouser arousal with the exciting news of TWO new Mojo-Bone Rekkids releases—technically, one is on Okto-Bone, a new collaboration between Birdman and Oktay Gürbüz!

The Sweet Nothin' were from the Bucks County, PA/Trenton, NJ area, home to numerous garage legends, including the Galaxies VI, Trees and Young Monkey Men. In 1967, they travelled to New York City to record some demos, and these are the results. "Silly Games" is a racing R & B rocker in the style of the Animals with a catchy chorus and lashings of organ, while "Four In The Morning" (best known by the Youngbloods, also recorded by the Sunshine Company and Ant Trip Ceremony) is fabulous, with soaring harmonies, moody organ and a dynamite lead break!

The Stoics from San Antonio, TX shouldn't require much introduction; since their sole 1967 single was first comped in the early 80s, both sides have been held in VERY high regard, not just for the quality of the songs and musicianship but also its extreme rarity (I read that only 150 copies were pressed—can anyone verify!). It's also quite well established that the original pressing suffers from poor quality, so it gives us great pleasure to disclose that this new issue has been taken from the original masters and sounds MONSTROUS!! This new 45 also represents the ONLY official 7" reissue in more than 50 years!! Forget the AWFUL Garage Greats bootleg—this is the real deal!

We are SUPER-EXCITED to announce a new release on brand new label, Discos Quilombo!

LOS CHIJUAS were formed in Ciudad de Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua in 1967. They had a number of hits with Spanish-language versions of UK and US hits, but also wrote their own material—"Están Cambiando Los Colores De La Vida" from 1968 is a fantastic example of killer psych-pop, and has long been held in high regard since its inclusion on a number of comps and in numerous DJ boxes. This is its first legitimate issue on 45 since 1968 (although it was briefly issued in Guatemala in the early 70s), backed with its English-language equivalent, "Changing The Colors Of Life".

Limited edition of 500 copies in a hand-numbered sleeve! Official release date is 23rd February, and we should have copies not long after.
