's #14: Visit 826michigan to help out a non-profit and help children write! 826michigan is an excellent space for students aged 6 to 18 to learn some creative writing skills. Visit their Robot Supply & Repair store for fun products and gifts. Don't think this organization is just for the younger folk, though. They also ofter night and weekend workshops for adults!

Dawn Treader Book Shop

'a #11: Browse the shelves at The Dawn Treader Book Shop! It's an absolutely beautiful book store with thousands upon thousands of books. They specialize in rare and antique books, so if there's something that you've really been wanting to read but just can't find, or if you're looking for that good book to fill up that empty book shelf. The staff here couldn't be friendlier, and their store is a wonder to explore. It's quite easy to walk in and lose an hour to two just staring at the shelves!

Casey's Tavern: Home

's #10: A good place to grab some dinner in the middle of the week is Casey's Tavern! It's a cozy place with a nice selection of beers, but the real reason to go is their sandwiches! Selma Cafe

's #9: What are you doing this Friday morning? Stop in for an amazing breakfast at Selma Cafe: a once a week "local-foods breakfast salon". Every Friday morning, Jeff and Lisa graciously open their homes to the community and serve a fantastic breakfast! They operate on donations and their proceeds go to help out local small farms. Come in on Thursday volunteer with the prep work, of on Friday afternoons to help with the clean up! Their mission is to "imagine and create a new vital and sustainable regional food economy"! Browse their web site to see how you can volunteer at the cafe or go to one of their large one day "barn raisings". Coming up on September 26, at the Grange Kitchen & Bar, they are launching their latest program known as the Farmer's Fund!
