It has been some time since I got to experience the level of community music can bring. Joe has been in the live music scene for the past 18 years here in Texas and last night was his last performance here in America. There was nearly 200 people in attendance to show him love, one last time.
Always nice to be reminded what music does to/for people. Been a pleasure to drink, eat, and listen to you, Joe.

It’s an end of an era, y’all. Doing this podcast has to be one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Getting to sit down and have conversations with some amazing people about anything and everything has been incredibly rewarding. Big shout out to Evan and Kris for helping me make this dream come to life over the past 2 years. Couldn’t have done it without them. This show was a huge part of my life and I thank y’all for rocking with us. Since moving from temple, the podcast as we’ve come to know and love is retired. But I’m not done. For all my teacher friends, you did it! You made it to the end of the year. And if you’re anything like me, this year felt like it last FOREVER. But you did it. We did it. I’m proud of you. Also, turns out I’m a super emotional dude and teaching in the capacity I’ve been doing was super unhealthy. It’s a good conversation about a hard life choice.

Turns out everyone here at the podcast is incredibly stressed out about parenting. Trying to make the right decisions, not relying on an iPad, teaching them the little important things, how we’d react to day to day life. All of it.
We recorded this a week ago before the tragedy in uvalde. We joke about the minor stresses and inconveniences of parenting, but we could never imagine going through what all those families are feeling. Our hearts go out to all those lost.
