What about Montana inspired you to create your short? I grew up in Western Montana, and what I love about it is that only minutes away from your front door you can literally be out in dense forest. My thought was to showcase one slice of that experience, and the Rattlesnake Valley really exemplifies what it feels like to be out in the forests of Western Montana. [ 648 more words. ]

At BACKTRACK films, we always like to try to give back through our filmmaking, and the Audience Awards gives us an opportunity to do that in a literal sense. As a way to spread the love, we are pledging to donate a big chunk - at least 30% - of any winnings we might receive from this final round of voting to an organization called One World Running. We've got a short 1-minute film competing over at the Audience Awards! It's a short ode to our dog, and the Rattlesnake Valley - part of the "Real Montana" competition sponsored by the Montana Office of Tourism. What can we say... It's all in a days work. Not too shabby!
BACKTRACK films was on the Bitterroot River for two days with our newest clients Cortland Line and PartnersCreative. Jon at Blackfoot River Outfitters guided us to the best spots and we all had an awesome time catching "Shamoos" and enjoying the best that the Bitterroot has to offer. No doubt about it. Fish on!

Beyond the Divide (Sneak Preview) | Big Sky Documentary Film Festival 2014

Missoula's reception of Beyond the Divide Film's sneak preview this past Sunday at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival was so well received that everyone can now have a second chance to see it! Check out Quiet Island Films and Jan Selby's "Beyond the Divide" for an encore sneak preview, this Sunday, February 23rd, 1:45pm at the The Top Hat. Elgin was excited to be the cinematographer for this special documentary.
