Do you often wonder why you are attracted to certain things or places?
Well, I am certainly drawn to water. Love the ocean and lakes.
And I am a cancer for my birth date which is a crab! So, I was born to be around a marine environment.
This is why I think I have always been drawn to and fascinated by marine knots. Especially the Turk's head knot. Love how it is all intertwined together to make a beautiful pattern.
I recently taught myself how to make this beautiful knot and wanted to share it with all of you so you can make them too.
If you have a coastal theme for your decor like I have then you are in luck as these will go beautifully for that decor.

Getting into that nitty gritty dirt and loving it!
There is nothing more rewarding to get out in your garden and plant flowers, vegetables, herbs or whatever you enjoy.
I love my flowers and always have planters on my deck every year and enjoy looking at them with all the different colours and shapes. Especially love it when the hummingbirds come to visit and enjoy the nectar that I have provided for them.
I have in the past also loved to have vegetable gardens. Always remember picking those sugar peas right off the vine and popping it in my mouth for an explosion of fresh flavour. Oh soooo good.
Well, I haven't been able to plant a vegetable garden as we just don't get enough sun in our backyard where we live now and we have a lot of animals that would have a gourmet meal as soon as all the plants grow to perfection.
So, I have missed the vegetable gardening and thought I would set up a herb garden container on my deck. Its not to late if you buy already established plants. And I'm so glad I did. It has only been a few days and all the plants are doing so well. And it's right off my kitchen so easy picking for when I want some chives, parsley or other herbs.

It's great that we all have cameras on our phones these days but how many of us actually print off any of those photos and make beautiful memory journals.
Someone I know lost a very loving pet and what better gift is there than to compile some memorable photos and place them in a wonderful journal that you have made.
This pet memory journal has eco prints, bubble art, coffee staining, stencilling and dried flowers too.

I needed some more fun pages to make a personalized junk journal. I already had some left over eco print papers and I also had some coffee stained papers but I wanted some more variety for this junk journal.
So, I decided to have fun and blow lots of bubbles! Bubbles with added natural dyes to make hues of browns, violets, blues and pinks.
I used berries, coffee, beets and tried a few others as well. It was a lot of fun.
The video will walk you through the steps on how to make your natural dyes and how to make your bubble prints. I also give you lots of ideas, tips and other natural dyes you can try.

I really never know what I'm going to make for my next video. But I always seem to come up with something. After publishing 228 videos there is still lots more to come!
Sometimes I get ideas thrown my way too.
My niece sent me a cute mime and it looked like some kind of an animal with legs and arms and it was swinging all over the place in the animated mime. I could not really make out what it was supposed to be. Maybe a cat perhaps.
Then I thought maybe I would make a monkey with the legs and arms and tail! I showed my husband what I was making and then he said, "You could make the wise monkeys". See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Sooo, that got me thinking.
Hmmm. I was going to just knit one monkey, but now I will knit three. I am so glad I did as I have had so much fun with them and they really make me smile. I made them with bendable arms, legs and tails.

When someone says to me can you make a basket to hold toilet paper. I say, "I guess I could". Then of course my mind goes into fast gear thinking how do I work out the length and width to fit 3 rolls of TP. How long to make my first length? Well some how I figured it out.
I have had this question posted on my channel and at the time I said. " I have no formula to work out how to get the size of basket that you need". Well now I have figured it out for you all.
This basket has been glued together rather than sewed this time as I wanted really straight sides on the ends and sides. It can be also be sewn on the sewing machine but be forewarned that when sewing real tight corners that will not fit over the sewing machine head you will probably end up with more slanted sides rather than 90 degree sides straight up and down.

I have been enjoying acrylic painting these days and I also love to make home made greeting cards. Receiving a homemade card for any celebration is very special. It's more personal and a lot more love and thought has gone into it.
Over the years I have worked in different painting mediums. Started with water colour many years ago. I have recently been exploring acrylic paint more and what it is capable of. You can use it as a full body paint for landscapes, abstracts, flowers etc. It is much more forgiving than water colour. But saying that... You can use acrylic paint and turn it into watercolours.
So this is what I have done and I will show you in this video. I painted a few backgrounds using different painting techniques.
It's a lot of fun making mandalas and playing around with Zentangle designs.
You will see how the painted backgrounds and the gel pen designs work so well together.
I have included a full step by step tutorial in this video so you can follow along and make a gorgeous Easter card.
Keep in mind that these techniques will work beautifully for any outline. It doesn't have to just be an egg shape.

I'm back. Been gone for too long. That's what happens when you decide to go into the hospital for thyroid surgery and come out with a nasty flu. Anyways all is good and on he road to recovery.
Seeing as I had all this time to recover I decided to do an easy project to make the days pass faster. Some viewers had mentioned that they would love to see more knitted toy videos as well as a cat.

I was asked to make a macrame plant hanger and I just couldn't make the usual plant hanger. Just had to think out of the box and come up with some new ideas.
I decided I wanted a beach themed hanger because I am all about the beach. And the person that will receive this hanger loves turquoise and silver just like me.
Started with a piece of driftwood for the hanger of course. Now I'm excited to show you something new. Well it's not really new because I have been using this technique with my rope bowls. So I used that to add to my macrame plant hanger. Got to keep you guessing a bit here.
I also added some jewelry to bring in some turquoise and silver as well as some silver sea stars. To top it off I put in some driftwood pieces and dried kelp.

If you are looking for the last quick holiday gift that you want to make than I have you covered!
This can be a fun time with some friends and family members for some Christmas spirit for the holidays while you have your seasonal drinks and treats while painting up some ornaments and gift tags.
I saw these cute wood cut outs at the dollar store and I also had some wooden stars so thought I would paint some up and use them for gift tags on parcels.
Instead of the gift tags being thrown out, they can be reused for Christmas tree ornaments the following year. So they are a tag and gift all in one!
I have done some simple painted ones that you can copy or use dotting tools to make some beautiful stars and snowflakes. I also did a couple whimsical ornaments for fun.

Time to use up some of my craft supplies don't you think! My cupboards are spilling over.
I had lots of macrame cord so this is what I came up with. I was thinking it would be really pretty to attach a beautiful macrame fringe around some sort of basket. Then I thought why not crochet a basket with bulky macrame cord and then I would have the stitches on the top row to add my macrame cord for the fringe. This was my thought and wasn't sure how it would turn out.
Viola! It turned out better than expected. And it's pretty easy too.
I only used single crochet for the basket and by following the crochet formula I made a nice flat circle. This easy to follow crochet formula is all you need to make your basket. Then follow along with the video for more tips and tricks to form your sides.
Then I will show you how to macrame a gorgeous fringe for your basket.
If you don't know how to crochet or macrame don't worry. I will go nice and slow and you can learn two skills with one video.

Having the perfect stone for dot painting is a must! If you live by the beach then you might get lucky and find that perfect round smooth flat stone. But it takes a bit of searching.
Or maybe you don't live by a beach or a garden store that sells garden stones.
Or maybe you want the perfect stone to paint.

Awhile back I did a video on how to make fabric paper and had a lot of fun with it.
I was looking through a used book store on my holidays and came across an old book on folded fabric boxes. Seeing as I already knew how to make fabric paper and I love doing origami I thought this would be a fun project.
I now have lots of beautiful gift boxes as I couldn't stop making them.
I hope you have some fun making some too!
These are great boxes to put gifts in because they are handmade with love.
Make them any size you want. They can also be re gifted to someone else. Wouldn't that be cool if years down the road you were given a gift in a box that you had actually made many years ago. It could happen!

I saw a post come up on Facebook that really intrigued me so just had to share.
I had not heard of this project but was very excited to jump on board.
Lewis Lavoie, artist and inventor of the Global Roots Project actually created the first mosaic mural back in 1997 and it is displayed in St. Albert, Alberta Canada. I believe it is at the Mustard Seed 10050-81 Ave NW Edmonton.
It was so popular that they decided to grow and it has spread to many other countries.
I am bringing you along to give you some more information
so you can come aboard too and paint a tile to be placed in a very special mosaic mural.

I have had great success with a new way of making stunning Eco Prints.
I made Eco prints about four years ago but I used a different method. It was a bit more cumbersome so I am very excited to show you how beautiful these Eco Prints turned out.
This method is done by steaming the paper instead of boiling. Much easier and much faster.
I will show you step step how to create sharp crisp outlines on the leaves and we will do a batch of flowers too! And even some items from the fridge!

I am excited to show you a wonderful art form that will de stress you while you create a beautiful work of art. There is a real science behind how this works. One of the steps in this art is called rounding or the transformation stage. While you are rounding out it sends signals to your neuron's in your brain and while drawing you will find yourself starting to relax. It is very mediative and many have helped themselves to reduce depression, anxiety, pain and much more. It is much easier to do than it looks.

Here's a great way to recycle old magazines and newspaper flyers and create beautiful bowls.
Just strips of paper rolled into tubes and then formed into bowls and some added glue to keep the shape and you are done.
Beautiful bowls to adorn your home or give as gifts.

Here's a really fun paper craft for you! Grab some instant coffee, your copy paper you use for your printer and some stencils and watch what happens. Beautiful, gorgeous prints. Use the sun or a blow dryer or just let them dry on their own to see the images appear on the paper with the brown hues of the coffee.

I have been hard at work. Working at crafting that is! I always have something I want to try. You probably haven't heart of this one before.
Have you heard of Fabric paper or Paper cloth. I had not heard of this so of course I researched it and gave it a try. It was a lot of fun and ended up making items that I didn't think I was going to make when I started the process.
It's a long video with lots of info and I will show you some things to make with it as well.
You don't need a lot of supplies which is great. Just some unbleached cotton, glue, napkins and a brush!

Here's the last of the crazy quilt series. Part 3.
This quilt has gone through 4 generations and is now complete after 32 years. Oh, and it feels fabulous that it is on my finished list.
Part 3 will take you through the whole process on how to finish your quilt. From the sandwich to the final top stitching of the binding.
This is a true heirloom quilt with lots of memories and love and will be cherished for many more years to come.
