Just a little perspective here:

I know we want to find the conspiracy and from a media perspective and the reviews, there was 100% a concerted sexist slant to that toward Barbie

But let’s not demean the hard work of both Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie by creating some false narrative that the Oscar’s had a sexist slant

I know we “think” that is ok and what the actors/media personalities want. That somehow we are “helping” them by posting and pushing that narrative. That because they were not nominated it was some effort to keep them out. Make no mind btw that the movie THEY created DID GET noms and is expected to win a couple.

They absolutely do NOT and you are NOT helping at all.

All you are doing is taking the shine off of their amazing work by putting the focus on something else.

Not everyone gets to get nominated. There are 1000’s of movies and performances. Trust me, they are not focusing on the awards to give them validation. You do that by going to those movies😊

Avatar: Way of the Water is a stunningly beautiful movie that lends itself well to the special effects wizardry for which James Cameron is famous. No one in cinema has pushed the envelope as much as he has in his career. He takes facial expressions and 3-D to a whole new level with this movie. That is really where the magic happens. Cameron has once again taken cinema effects and pushed the envelope to create something so beautiful and visually magical, It is worth the money just to see the difference, ESPECIALLY in 3-D where this really takes off.
Unfortunately, that is where the praise stops. Let's start with the obvious: the movie is 3:12 min long, which is long even for high-action MCU movies. But this is anything but high action. The movie catches your eye right away *especially in 3-D) but once the wonder and amazement wear off you are left with a rather boring and long piece of cinema that doesn't raise anything new. It is simply more of Na'vi good, Humans Bad. The movie feels more like a waiting room than a fleshed-out story.
Will the movie make money? of course it will.
Will it make the 2 billion it needs to be financially successful?
Probably not, That is doubtful given the movie's inability to really grab you and thus make it unlikely that people will go multiple times.
While pedantic and basically a retread of the Pocahontas tale, the original story had enough gravitas and action to keep us engaged throughout. It also had incredible facials and expressions by the main antagonist of the story, Steven Lang as Colonel Quaritch.
This one does not have any of that. We are introduced to new characters (Kate Winslett's Ronal for example) but it is nearly impossible to follow who is who between the Na'vi. The entire experience leaves one feeling a bit confused character-wise. Lang also returns in this one in a bit of a body switch, but in doing that loses all the facial expressions and emotions which made him such a compelling character.

Now, while Avatar: Way of the Water probably does not fall into the bottom rungs of The F-Mode's rating category, we only have 2 options so we are ALWAYS beholden to that. Therefore......

Avatar: Way of the Water... worst movie ever.

Morbius will go down as one of the worst comic book movies of all time. Just AWFUL. The CGI is some of the most disjointed and badly executed in recent memory. There is next to no character arc or build and the script was incredibly bad.

Definitely not “it’s Fine” this one is 100% in the “worst movie ever” category.
I will NOT be reviewing this or seeing it again.

This is absolute garbage. Joss Whedon is beyond toxic. I was like everyone else, severely enamored with what he did on his early shows. But I have seen it first hand from him, he is just not a good person.
If there was evert a person to cancel it is him.

The film had a notoriously troubled shoot.

I’ve spent the several years trying to build a little tiny career in media. Social media has been a big part of that. I’ve gotten to interview so many people that I never thought I would.
I am usually pretty even keel. I know there are a lot of you that just spew s**t out of your assmouth (spelled correctly) hoping to be cool and get a scoop. You scour the Internet and think you are scooping something. All you are doing is sounding like the moron you really are.

Bob Saget was one of the good ones. But the need for people to trash him and spew lies because of what they have read from bottom feeding dirt sheet trolls has closed it for me. Not ONE of you have ever met or talked to the man. Well I have met him and I am fortunate enough to have several acquaintances that know him well. I’ll simply say it again, Bob was one of the good ones.

The rest of you can sit there in your moms basement and keep eating Takis and Oreos and drink your Bang energy while you do your “reporting”. Just know this, your aren’t anything more than those white pieces of s**t scum that flies land on when they are on horses**t.

Man as someone that LOVES the source material and the actors involved..... It was rough.

If it is possible for a show to try too much to be like the anime, this one was it. Honestly I am not surprised with the decision. The Netflix renewal rate for scripted series that have 2 seasons or more is at about 60%, which is the industry standard. When viewership fell 59% in the 3rd week, that was a wrap.

In the end, what could have been a great series was nothing more than a vehicle for bad CGI and unrealistic sets.

Netflix has decided not to renew Cowboy Bebop starring John Cho cancelling the live-action anime adaptation after just one season.

It's times like this that I miss doing the podcast. This amazing little show that everyone thought would maybe last 2 seasons if they were lucky told amazing and compelling stories for a FEMALE LED role. It inspired a generation of young women to be as super as they could no matter what stood in their way.
