Looking forward to diving into this today! I love when I'm gifted vinyl, it's such a cool way to explore albums I never knew existed or may not have bought myself.

One of the perks of being a DJ is having direct line of sight to the stage - and the International Blues Day @ Marys Underground had an incredible line up of musicians! Thanks for having me!

Had so much fun DJing at Dean & Nancy on 22 on Saturday night! First gig in front of real, live people in too long - and they were a swell bunch of kool kats and kittens! Highly recommend a visit 👌
Who says you can't party virtually?! A little snippet of me kicking off a celebration back in August with the one and only Big Mama Thornton on 45.
Well it's been a minute, folks! COVID restrictions meant gigs pretty much dried up but I've been keeping busy with radio spots, podcasts and setting up my home rig! Huge THANK YOU to everyone who has continued to support me and all other artists in these wild times.
Missed the Sista Feminista take over of Platter Splatter for International Women's Day? Want to fight the Monday blues with some real Blues? Then tune in tonight from 9pm on Orbital Radio https://linktr.ee/orbitalradio

Nothing like the postman delivering some fresh 45s to make everything a little brighter
Lift the voices of the BIPOC community right now, don't speak for them.

Continue to listen. Research what's going on in your own backyard, on the stolen land we all benefit from.
It is a privilege to learn about racism this way and not through lived experience.
Big Mama - Fran Liddle & The Hanged Men bringing you your smooth Sunday tunes
Well that was a whole lot of FUN! Insta eventually chucked me out for 'playing music by someone else' which is absolutely fair! Thank you to those who tuned in tonight to dance to music from q***r artists, black artists and people of colour, 'foreign' language and gender diverse artists. I had a blast!
Over on Insta tonight, The Butch-Femme Social Network: Persistence in Desire will be bringing you drag, live music and spoken word, with yours truly playing some Saturday night dance floor vibes.
Today's sounds from Louisiana came live into my living room via Carolyn Broussard Music and special guest, Cami Maki. If I was in New Orleans now, as planned, I wouldn't have been turned on to either of these musicians - silver linings, right?!? There are so many live streams now that you can fill your house day and night and discover your new favourite artist. And don't forget, if you can, tip your musician. If you can't, then 'like' their pages, share their stuff, turn your friends onto them - let's keep live music alive.
I should be in New Orleans right now, instead I am going to fill my apartment with it's music. First up, Professor Longhair for some classic NOLA piano blues and Betty Harris for some 60s soul.
Sunday is vintage fun day!
Saying so long to another legend today, Bill Withers. Ain't No Sunshine was on high rotation in my bedroom as a kid and Lean On Me seems especially appropriate in these tough times. Thank you for your soul, Bill, may it rest in peace.
I should be in Chicago right now and then road tripping to NOLA for my birthday in a few weeks. Online gigs are as close as I'm going to get for a while. Over on Instagram right now, Sydney & New Orleans join forces for some Americana and blues. Support musicians.

Such sad news from New Orleans today; I fear it won't be the only elder and beloved teacher that will be lost to this virus. Stay safe, music fam, and please (if you're not an essential worker) stay home.
The 85-year-old legend had been tested for coronavirus and results were pending.
Always a pleasure to catch sets by these kats - Limpin' Jimmy and The Swingin' Kitten and Dean Robert!
Band Together is sold out!!! To add to the air of spontaneous celebration and scintillating suspense, artist set times won't be released. But, if you're a fan of Frank Sultana Blues Machine get there bright and early ;)
Private Pleasures & Hard Love: an Erotic Q***r Double Feature:
Sista Feminista is better known for bringing the best blues, soul, and rhythm & blues to bars, clubs and festivals around Europe and Australia but she’s got something different in store for the Rat! This q***r femme is going straight (ba boom tssh!) to her private collection to bring you the highlights from 20 years of classic d**e favourites, q***r secret pleasures, and hot gender rebellion. See you on the dance floor?
If you aren't eating your eggs while listening to Bo Diddley at the 1972 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, is it even a lazy Saturday?
Listened to the rain for an hour before putting on this perfect accompaniment. It is a good day.
Band together. Musician and friend of mine, Wayne Rigby, is putting on a live blues music fundraiser for NSW Rural Fire Service on the 9th Feb in Sydney. Like most of us, he was at a loss as to what to do, so is doing what he does best - playing music and bringing people together. I will join this stellar line up to do what Sista Feminista does best, making sure you still get your blues fix while the musicians grab another round at the bar. Event and ticket details will be released soon - we are all donating our time and every ticket counts.
Easing back into work with this bleu beauty
What a night! Such a joy to look out on a full floor of happy faces and enthusiastic dancers. Easily the most fun gig of the year! Thank you, Sound and Fury!
